Only on what’s happening on screen. The figures are the best part.
Oh sure though; there are aspects of figure collecting I am frustrated with.
As soon as a figure comes out, the attire is current for a week for two. On script the wrestlers change attire or gimmick immediately to date their merchandise figure that just came out. So everyone will clamor for the next one. Wish that figures like Lashley made to shelves quicker because by time we get him he will be a month from out of contract or no longer main event. Biggest complaint. Or he wears black until then, then suddenly he goes all red Ahmed Johnson attire from there on the minute we get a figure... never wears his current stuff again. Coincidence? No way. Seen it happen 1,000 times virtually every character. They know what they’re doing

No. Collecting figures is kind of the only thing that’s keeping me with WWE as its nearly unwatchable at the moment, but I do dabble in NJPW and some ROH stuff occasionally. This a good post here

I havent lost interest but Im tired of wasting my money. When the Legends line was out Bill said, and I quote "If you want Legends to continue then you need to keep buying"...So I bought Legends, then when Flashbacks came out I bought guys I had no desire for. I bought Edge, Christian, King Booker, Boogeyman, Guerrero etc...No desire to own them but just had hopes that if I bought them Id eventually get the guys I want. However the further we get into the line the less Im getting of the guys I want and most of the guys from the era I want we're getting are repaints. If you're a Warrior or Macho fan its cool but I literally dont need 43 of each guy. So Ill continue to buy Backlund, Sherri and Patterson but no more Hardy Boys, Edge, or any of those types of guys for me. If it doesnt fall between 1987-1992, it doesnt get bought. No offense, why would you waste money buying figures that you care nothing about?! I only buy figures of those I am interested in, regardless of what Bill or anyone else says. They have continued to make figures of legends for years now (regardless of the downfall of the legends line) which means that the demand is there for these types of figures to be made and you don't need to go buying up every flash back they make to supposedly ensure that they will make more. I collect from the same era as you and even though I have bought many of the guys from that time period that have been made, this has not resulted in Mattel making figures of other guys I want like Greg Valentine or Hercules. There are several figs I don't have (Hillbilly Jim, Snuka, Hacksaw, Demolition), simply because I have no interest in owning them.

Nah not really since I only buy figures for signings or ones I’m a fan off like finn bálor carmella etc there is some exclusives I’d still love to own but yeh I don’t buy figures from every line just the ones I’m after & al continue to buy in the future. Saying that tho I haven’t bought a figure in over 3 months but I do intend to get the elite Mella soon

I held back from jumping into the mattel bandwagon back in 2010 when it was first out, because i already had quite a collection of Jakks.
Then in 2014, came WM14 HBK along with so many interesting oldschool like Flair, Luger, LOD, and later on Hogan, Ramon etc. Thats when i finally cave in and started collecting all the flashbacks and Legends and Entrance Greats series ... chasing back what i had missed out and continuing with new releases as well.
It had been a fun 3 years for an oldschool fan like me. Then starting mid-2017 ... it seems like flashbacks are no longer a priority in mattel's books. Toy shows after toy shows ... the announced flashbacks are pitifully minimal. Perhaps its really not selling as good as the PG era figures.
But i have to thank mattel now. They made me decide to slow down my collection and even considering retiring altogether. I have most of what i had hoped for inclusive of mattel official releases as well as some others which i built as customs because mattel will never make them. So its more or less considered "complete" to my expectation. And with the many great products coming up from other brands (eg. Storm Collectibles), i can channel my resources to focus on them instead.
To add insult to injury ... the newer mattel figures are definitely not making it more appealing to collect. Eg. Most recent flashback figures have out of proportion gigantic heads (beefcake, warlord, 3-pack Sting, shane, luger). Over re-use of old parts instead of newer molded bodies (eg. Goldberg needs his own unique torso, not a HHH one).
So YES. I am losing interest, and happily so. Thank you Mattel. It has been fun while it lasted.

slamtyro same here. The lack of new body molds and figures that we should of gotten are bringing my interests down. I wouldn’t say it’s a bad thing for me simply because I’m at a point in my life where I should be focusing on really important things. Collecting less helps me save money, but it does suck when you realize you won’t get the figures you want any time soon. We asked for a ponytail Luger Mattel give us the face painted version and then releases a short haired basic, we asked for a jeans DDP, we get a basic... makes me wonder what’s going on in the hq. A lot of us still want a wcw Bret, whether it’s a Halloween havoc or his black singlet with his pleather jacket and round glasses... Sting is another one, we keep getting the same crow attire... give us a ‘96 version, ‘99 version etc there’s a lot they could do honestly.

Now that Matt Riddle has signed, I’m more stoked than ever! Soon I’ll have a Ronda and Shayna next to my Shamrock. By next year I should have another crossover star in Riddle. Bro!

I've slowed down considerably, not because of Mattel but due to the product itself. I buy maybe a figure a month now. Hoping they get their crap together

Trouble I have now is I have started collecting other figure lines. Gets a bit pricey when they all have releases in the same month.
