So what was the point of their match at Extreme Rules if they are gonna fight again one week later?

Lazy booking. If they wanted to give us Reigns vs Lashley II for the right to face Brock, just give them a straight up rematch and stop wasting the talents of the other four allegedly in the title picture.

so what we should get because we all want to see it is Seth vs Balor because that is where the money lies. all their history over that belt, both guys are at the top of popularity with the fans so basically what we're going to get is Lashley vs Reigns again

I think my money is on Rollins. I could see this being the reason they got the ic title off of him while protecting him. And just like that... I’m broke. Well now we know why Roman lost to Lashley last night. Besides some of the mid-show filler, I thought this was a good RAW. Entertaining matches.

Shoulda been Lashley vs Drew or Seth. I am beyond the Reigns experiment anymore.

A "same old chit" chant will be not only welcomed, but encouraged next week.

Well, anybody who complains about crowds hijacking shows need to stfu.
Reigns vs Lashley again even though Lashley was clean, makes zero sense.
From a booking p.o.v, Reigns got murked at Mania, lost at GRR and lost to Lashley, what good reason is there for him to be anywhere near the title? It just does not make any sense.

i wouldnt even bank on Reigns winning next week. This could all just be part of a push for Lashley who is clearly someone Vince has his sights set on being a big star despite being less over than half the roster.
and they gotta keep Reigns in the mix god forbid.
You could have had Seth & Finn...2 guys who have history together, Finn who's barely gotten opportunities for title shots let alone an actual rematch for the belt he never lost and Seth who's clearly the most popular guy on the RAW roster, been killing it in the ring week after week for months now, legitimately has all the tools to be a top star in the company and has been too far removed from holding a world title. Both guys have wrestled a handful of times since the first U-Title match that Finn got injured in.....
but nah, give em Reigns vs Lashley again!
"we listen to you! the WWE Universe!"

I just love how everyone who came out to start the show had a legitimate claim to face Brock. Then Roman comes out and literally just stands there and he’s awarded a shot to become #1 contender.
I’m praying for royal rumble countdowns during their rematch next week.

I think that's pretty much it for me and Raw for a while. Time to step away and cleanse my pallet. Wake me up when they finally just get it over with and put the title on Reigns so we can just move on.
It's not even about whether or not he should be the guy anymore (he shouldn't, but that's beside the point.) It's the fact that they've done irreparable damage to he, Lesnar, and everyone else who has stepped foot in either of their paths because Vince can't crap or get off the pot. They should have pulled the trigger at Wrestlemania. They should have pulled the trigger at the Greatest Royal Rumble. They didn't, and that should have been it. That was an admission of failure, and at that point, they needed to pivot. They had Seth Rollins fall into their lap and set up the perfect scenario and they blew it.
Roman Reigns is dead in the water. Bobby Lashley is dead in the water. Brock Lesnar is dead in the water. The Universal Title is dead in the water. By default, the Summerslam main event is dead in the water. It just doesn't matter anymore. You're seeing it in the ratings, you're seeing it in the reactions, and none of it matters because they just got billions of dollars to keep on coasting and making a mockery of themselves.

I hope there's a good pay-off between Bayley and Sahsa. It's clear as day WWE wants these two to stay face for merch volumes, but it's irritating as hell to see this crap love fest on TV. "NO one beats up my friend but me! I love you, why don't you get that" WTF
and it's not a lesbian angle folks, this is PG-era, it's sisterly love.

uh oh. he just beat Roman and won. That means he loses next week Cole: Can Roman Reigns, the BIG DOG, overcome Bobby Lashley? Just 8 days removed from his loss at Extreme Rules. SPEAR SPEAR SPEAR By ROMAN. ROMAN with the COVER. THE BIG DOG HAS OVERCOME THE ODDS! Yes. It is happening. In a logical WWE world, we'd already have Lashley as the number 1 contender cause he already beat the presumptive challenger in a PPV match last week. I guess that's why they didn't call it a Number 1 Contender's Match

If I had to come in and book this mess to fix the damage, I would roll with this story:
You have Reigns beat Lashley on Raw next week in a fluke victory (small package or something else). This infuriates Lashley and he goes off on Angle, demanding as to why Reigns even had the opportunity to be in those matches having lost to Brock twice, and Lashley just beating him. Angle can't give him an answer, Lashley goes insane and destroys Angle, Balor eventually makes the save and starts the subsequent feud. Lashley is now a monster, kick ass heel with a chip on his shoulder questioning everything wrong in the WWE.
Reigns goes on to SummerSlam and defeats Lesnar, mid celebration Strowman comes out and Reigns gets them hands. Braun flattens him and becomes WWE Universal Champion. From there you can have newly monster heel Lashley feud with Braun over the title, and have Reigns work the midcard with Rollins, Ambrose, Ziggler, McIntyre, Elias, where he belongs.
But, if I had to guess the way WWE is, Lesnar retains at SummerSlam, Braun cashes in and somehow loses to Lesnar. Brock gets lucky and wins the UFC title in November and carries both straps into WrestleMania 35 for the 5TH rematch against Reigns. Vince's heart exploded with pure ecstasy during the prematch showdown and makes a mess in his pants while Roman wins the title infront of the highly predictable NYC set piece of Mania.

Raw is in a major rut right now, the IC title is on the most wish-washy superstar of the last decade, tag titles are also on 2 long time jobbers, Universal title is still awol, thought we were atleast gonna see Lesnar last night, Reigns continues to get opportunities despite blowing all previous. NWJ and Rawley?
