Honestly, it looks like they're doing their best to ruin this PPV before it even gets started. When they announced it, I expected them to do it justice, given that NXT are involved as well, meaning Triple H probably has input. But instead, they're announcing random matches with absolutely no storyline, no build. And besides that, they're matches that could be better.
Trish VS Alexa? Not as good as Trish VS Sasha. Lita VS Mickie? Why? Why are two veterans facing, rather than a veteran putting over a younger talent? They didn't even announce it on RAW, which shows you how much they care about this match. What is the point of this match?
I was super excited for this when it was first announced, but I've already lost interest with the atrocious way they're throwing random matches together, rather than actually putting a storyline behind it. I can only hope they get it together in time.

No way tickets are struggling to sell. They have the face of the Womens Revolution, the most decorated female athlete, the greatest womens champion of all time, the most recognizable face in all of the world as their RAW Champion. Ronda brings fans. She will sell every ticket alone!

Even if tickets are struggling I’m sure they will announce an all new attendance record of 102,000 because that’s what wwe does, they make historic and monumental moments.

Michael Cole straight up called the opening of raw “one of the most chaotic scenes I’ve ever seen in my history of calling raw” The same show where a limousine was crashed into the side of a semi truck with Kane inside

Why is it not Alexa Bliss & Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus and Lita? Hide ring rust and weaknesses with a tag match.
Out of those 4, Mickie is the only one who can really go in the ring, but I don’t think she can still carry Lita to a decent match. While Alexa/Trish isn’t going to be anything great.

That's what they're doing with Trish VS Alexa, even if they did it the backward way of announcing the match, then filling it with storyline afterwards. If they had gone with Trish VS Sasha instead, they could have built a storyline based off their Royal Rumble 2018 interaction. Now I remember why I don't usually bother to read your posts. I'll go back to doing that.

My Evolution matches that I would have gone with are:
Trish Stratus & Lita vs Alexa Bliss & Mickie James (Tag Team Match)
WWE RAW Women's Championship- Ronda Rousey vs Natalya
WWE Smackdown Live Women's Championship- Charlotte Flair (c) vs Becky Lynch
Sasha Banks & Bayley vs The Bella Twins
NXT Women's Championship- Shayna Baszler vs Kairi Sane (The Final Encounter)
Mae Young Classic Finals
NXT UK Women's Championship
Riott Squad vs Absolution

Then you get all pissy when I call you on it and say "well they'd have to build it like they're doing Trish-Alexa", even though you just said in your first comment that they were throwing random matches together with no storyline.

Probably skipping this one. The whole thing is just so thrown together that I don't really care.

One thing that is off about one of the matches. They say the NXT UK Women's Title is being defended. Yet they havent aired an episode of NXT UK. Not sure if the title will still be defended.

Then you get all pissy when I call you on it and say "well they'd have to build it like they're doing Trish-Alexa", even though you just said in your first comment that they were throwing random matches together with no storyline. Why on earth are you expecting me to fantasy book an entire storyline? It's WWE Creative's job to put storylines together. Not mine as the viewer. Do you think writers write a storyline, and THEN decide to make a match of it? No, they decide who they want to face each other, THEN write the storyline behind it, and usually the storyline plays out on TV before the match is announced for the next PPV. That's the traditional way of writing wrestling, and that's how this PPV should be, except it's not. Trish VS Alexa was announced for Evolution, before the two had interacted on TV. That's the wrong way round. If they're bringing legends back, it should be for the best possible match. Trish and Sasha showed a little bit of what they can do with each other at the Royal Rumble. I can't be the only one who'd be happy to see more in a one on one match. Whereas on the other hand, Alexa has never had a single memorable match, so I'm not expecting much from the match we're actually getting. If they had instead decided to write Trish VS Sasha, I think that would have been better. To do it justice, they would have to have them interact on RAW, before announcing the match for Evolution. That's my entire point, and how you don't understand that, and expect me to do WWE Creative's job for them, is astounding. I never said "they'd have to build it like they're doing Trish-Alexa". I acknowledged that Trish and Alexa is starting to build a storyline behind it, while ALSO stating that they've done it the backward way of announcing the match first, then filling it with storyline afterwards, which is not how they should have done it, and if they had gone with Trish-Sasha instead, that's still not the way to do that match either. Your attempt to "call me on it" is just so obtuse it's not even funny. Next time you disagree with a post, why not try ignoring it and moving on? If I make a post that someone disagrees with to the extent they feel the need to comment on it, I expect them to respectfully disagree, instead of making snarky posts, which always just reflect badly on you. But I don't think I've ever seen you respectfully disagree with anyone. I know I went back on my word, but this time, I really am done with this argument.

Give me Killer Kelly vs Rhea Ripley for the UK Women’s Championship if they plan on having a title match on the show, thanks.

I hope Ronda Rousey vs one of the Bella twins isn't one of the matches on this show. I'd rather see Rousey vs Stephanie than that.

I actually got into watching wrestling because of the women (Luna Vachon, to be specific). I’ve watched WWE since around late ‘98 and have seen the women basically used as nothing more than eyecandy (even the talented wrestlers like Jackie, Luna and Ivory) to be in evening gown matches and gravy bowl matches (can that even be considered a “match”?).
There obviously have been moments where the women seem to get credit. Such as the Golden Era. They seemed like an important and popular part of the company without it being pushed like some kind of PR agenda. But anytime they get momentum, the rug seems to be pulled out from under them (Golden Era to the Diva Search Era), which is why I have always considered women to be the perpetual underdogs of professional wrestling.
NXT has done a really good job of making the women’s division (and every other division) matter and it’s a really cool thing to see. Obviously once anyone from NXT comes up to WWE, they are ruined almost all the time. So I was really excited about an all women’s PPV at first...but after hearing about the confirmed and rumored matches, it just seems like a typical WWE mess and I almost guarantee people will just blame a poor PPV on the women.
Alexa Bliss vs Trish Stratus. I understand the idea they’re going for in this one. Trish is probably the most popular female to ever be in WWE and Bliss is the current most popular. It makes sense for what WWE would probably assume the fans see as a “dream match”. Bliss is a great character, but lacking in the wrestling (though she has improved) and Trish hasn’t wrestled full time in...12 years if I’m correct? So yeah. This will probably be a mess.
Mickie James vs Lita. They feuded for a bit over the Women’s Championship leading up to Lita’s retirement and if anyone else remembers their matches, they had ZERO chemistry. Why would they even do this match? Lita looked pretty bad in the Rumble but she never really looked that great as a wrestler to begin with. Mickie is a veteran and doesn’t need the rub from Lita. I just don’t get this.
Rumored: Ronda Rousey vs Nikki Bella. After Cena/Bella broke up, the WWE wants Nikki’s neck to get permanently broken. Hooray. What a joke of a rumored Main Event.
Rumored: Brie Bella vs Maryse. A call back to the dreaded 2 minute match Diva Era. Would anyone even care whether either of these two never stepped foot in a ring again?
I wouldn’t mind them having AJ Lee return to face someone like Sasha Banks or Bayley. Definitely have Charlotte vs Becky for the SD Women’s Title. Beth Phoenix vs Asuka maybe. I just honestly don’t know what they could do to make this PPVS worthwhile with WWE’s booking.
