"This record is not tainted at all. Period," said Bonds.
You're right Barry. It isn't tainted. It's meaningless.

I am torn about this, Bonds is a cock but Ive gotten to lighten up on him. He cheated, but this is a milestone, most of us are NEVER going to see another record broken, well A-Rod will break this but thats about it. We will never see .400 again, 56 games, Cy Youngs win records and maybe not even 300 wins again so this is special no matter how you look at it.
He needs to retire though, its obvious the man can still hit but the sideshow is over, just go off into the sunset please

Barry Bonds also thinks Seneca Wallace is quality. I once watched him have a HGH induced seizure on my back porch once during a cookout. I put a blanket over him and ate my burger.

The worst part about this is that Bonds is soooooooooo much or was so much better than these other juice heads McGwire, Sosa, etc without the juice, thats the worst part. He was a Top 10 ever before the juice, so even if he didnt juice, he would have been a Hall of Famer.
Probably not a Home Run King though

The Associated Press
Published on: 08/08/07 Salt Lake City — Two-time NL MVP Dale Murphy thinks Barry Bonds is a "terrible example for our kids" and that the San Francisco Giants used performance-enhancing drugs "without a doubt."
"Barry's a great player, there's no question about it, but he put an asterisk by his name on his own," Murphy said Monday on AM radio 1280 The Show. "He's deserved all the negative publicity that he's getting. I mean, people are calling up and complaining, I've heard the last few weeks, that that he's being treated unfairly. You know, life just usually isn't like that. You don't usually get treated unfairly. You usually get what you deserve. This is what Barry deserves. He's a hard guy to like. He's a hard teammate to have and, you know, he's set a terrible example for our kids." Murphy, who hit 398 homers in 18 major league seasons before retiring in 1993, said he refuses to watch Bonds' games.
"That's what you say to your kids. You say, 'This is what happens when you take steroids. Your dad doesn't want to watch this, because this is stuff that's drug abuse, basically, as we know," he said.
Bonds, who broke Hank Aaron's record Tuesday night by hitting his 756th home run, has denied knowingly using performance-enhancing drugs. A federal grand jury in California has been investigating Bonds on possible perjury and tax charges.
"Even in a court of law you can have ... a preponderance of circumstantial evidence to convict somebody," Murphy said. "Now, maybe I'm wrong, but when you get enough stuff on a guy, you can make a decision and it's just really a no-brainer. The guy would have become one of the great ones, anyway. ... But now, he sucked the fun and the life right out of it. I mean, there is enough evidence to me to say without a doubt he used performance-enhancing drugs. He hit 73 home runs when he was 37. I mean, Hank would have hit 855 if he had the same advantage."[/b]
Suck it Dale Murphy. You're a pansy cry baby anyway. What good has being nice done you? You won't even snif the Hall of Fame because you were too good to juice it. Well, you can sit there and make babies with the rest of the mormons, and wish you hadn't sucked so bad that you couldn't even hit 400 HR.
HAH!

I think its funny that everyone is speaking with such certainty that A-Rod will break the record and all will be right in the world because there will be purity amongst the baseball record books. I think it'd be pretty funny if he just Jimmie Foxx'd it and became a belligerent drunk who stops hitting homers. or a belligerent homosexual who stops hitting homers.
As far as Bonds goes, its been so long presumed that the record was gonna eventually fall, that i've already run the gamut of emotions about it long ago. i simply stopped caring awhile ago. It may be the most hallowed record in sports, but really... can anyone--at least anyone of my age range--say that Hank Aaron was the type of persona you'd expect to hold the greatest record in sports? something about Bonds holding the record just seems to make more "sense," historically. i don't know why.
and I kind of empathize with the guy now, because he's been run through the mill, plenty of times over. and maybe he deserves it. but if I had kids(and thank Don King, i dont), I'd tell them that Barry Bonds is a great role model. Barry Bonds is a great American. live your life like Barry Bonds lived his. he's good at something, and he knows it. he was a complete bastard to everyone he considered "beneath" him, he (allegedly) cheated to get to the top, he made a ****load of money in the process, got a lot of ass, and will still go down as one of the best who ever did what he does.
thats America at its finest. Barry Bonds>terrorists.
