It's cool we are getting a Commissioner HBK, but I wish he looked more like this

It's probably been asked and answered before, but do we know a tentative release date for this series? If I had to guess, I'd probably say the Fall, since series 2 is hitting now?
Either way, these waves have been fire! I'm really excited for Doink and Razor from series 2, but that '96 Jake is a thing of beauty and is easily the WWE figure I'm looking forward to most.
Finally, after ALLLL of these years, a company is making a 1996 Jake with a head that ACTUALLY matches that era, instead of lazily tossing an 80s head that's already been used before!
Also, i'm not a Harley Race fan by any means, but that's one heck of a beautifully accurate figure

When I think of Commissioner Michaels, I picture him as he appears in the original Smackdown! opening: bob haircut, no ponytail, red shirt without a tie, open gray or tan jacket, and mandatory 90’s HBK scruffy beard. Either that or the banana smuggling shorts with a clean face lol.
Between wanting one of those versions of Commissioner Michaels and an Attitude Era Vince without a tie I’m really sick of suited figures always having ties.

Don’t know what “change” you’re talking about but the heads are one and the same Perhaps its the camera angle, but in the one pic he has an open mouthed smile with teeth showing and the other one its a closed mouthed smile.

Michaels is almost an exact reproduction of the BCA Commissioner Michaels, so the childhood nostalgia meter is high for me. But Austin is a tough sell. I paid less for the DM with a better vest and 3 belts. I just wish they could have done something a little more unique for the figure.

The main difference here is that you have to spend $70+ to build Mattel's figure, whereas the Superstars Series 8 "Team Corporate" Jakks figure only cost $5-7 at retail in 1999. From head to toe, the Jakks figure sculpt was completely new for its time. The accessories included with the figure were also fully painted.

Harley is perfect! 10 outta 10.
Jake looks great as well. I may actually like that Jake head even for a younger version.
Steamboat looks good, I just wish he had a new head. The DM version with a molded headband would have been ideal IMO.
Austin is all kinds of meh. Nothing about it besides the BAF is appealing. Wish we had at least got a new head.
Don't really need the HBK. But I do like how it looks.

Since there was about 7-8 months between FB 1 and FB 2, that would be the same timeframe I would expect for these. Unless Walmart requested more waves per year, which I haven't heard.

I saw an image of the Steamboat on Twitter. Just imagine his previous elite but in all white, and there he is - trunks are white, jacket is white and the head is exactly the same. Although, this time, he comes with an intercontinental title, which is nice. smaller arms too Looks like the arms are the same as his original Legends figure.

I'm not questioning if Mattel has ever done a BAF in it's Elite Line ever. I'm talking about this Line. The BAF in the Flashback Walmart Series has always been in the Basic Line. The Elite Flashback has always been build a set, not build a figure. Given the change starting in Series 3 I'm wondering if there will be a Series 3 Basic Flashback Set or if that Basic Flashback Line will be cancelled after Series 2. Well they had to find somewhere else for the elite BAFs since TRU is the big RIP now That’s not the case with this line. This line was always exclusive to Wal Mart, not TRU. I just have a simple question: will the basic flashback line be cancelled after series2?

Now that I know Steamboat is coming with his entrance gear he is a must have. A perfect replacement for the Legends one I sold. And no red dye robe to stain him this time

I actually like the whole set. That Stone Cold will be my 4th trunks Stone Cold. I already have a '98 with a single knee brace, a 2000 (2001?) with gold knee braces, and one with red knee braces. This one will be a 2001 (2002?) with double black knee braces. Yeah, I like Stone Cold. And if they put out white knee braces, I'll have one for that, too.

No. Have we seen/heard anything about Series 3 yet? They usually show the Basic set around the same time as the Elite and I don't think they've shown anything yet...

Paul Ellering is said to be a Flashback Basic BAF and we saw a prototype of it at Axxess. The lineup for the third wave has yet to be confirmed, nor do we know for certain if Ellering is next in line as a BAF. What we do know is that BrickSeek's grouping of Flashback Basic listings from late last year included these placeholder names: 1-2-3 Kid Beth Phoenix Mankind The Godfather Rocky Maivia Shane McMahon Big Show British Bulldog - According to a recent interview with Bill, this is not currently in the plans for the FB Basics. Will they hold true? Who knows. Thus far, Series 1 and 2 of the Flashback Basics have been 100% accurate.
