With so many waves of figures released over the past 8 years, anyone have any cool stories to share? I have a couple, but here’s one. Everyone knows that HOF 3 was delayed and was desired. I think I was one of the first people to find it, and I told my buddy Hulkamania4Life to go pick his set up. I asked the employee to check the back for Yokozuna series 2, he comes all the way back with nothing, I was disappointed. He proceeds to tell me “ sorry, we only have Macho Man, Dibiase, and Jimmy Hart.” At that point I was so pumped I asked him to get them. That was the best feeling I’ve had collecting, besides the JR BAF, which was also kind of scarcely distirubutef at first. Love to hear some of yours.

HOF 2 was a particularly fun chase to find Yokos to hoard for the belts. Going further back I’ll never forget finding E1 Punk at a local Walmart, my first or second Mattel fig.

When HOF3 was out I spotted a wild HOF1 Warrior haha picked that up then went to Wal-Mart to get the TNF basic warrior to do some swaps . When I went to check out, the cashier randomly cuts a promo on me like he was Hulk Hogan lmao of course I played along and cut a Warrior promo. The cringe was probably real but it was all good and fun.

I decided to go to KMART while their liquidation sale was going on and I found an Elimination Chamber basic series Chris Jericho. This thing was covered in dust and I had never seen such an old figure at retail so I bought it even though I only collect elites. I'm guessing that someone hid the figure and forgot about it.

Not a wwe figure story, but looking for the elusive hasbro marvel legends deadpool.
I kept missing it since it was such a hot figure to own or resell on ebay.
So one day i went to toysrus i saw other figures in the set and got excited but no deadpool anywhere.
So i thought, well this sucks i missed it again. I found a guy that works there as asked him to check the on hand and there was more than on the pegs actually had.
So great it might be here but its stashed somewhere but i don't look all over to find it. So i thanked the guy for checking and was just about to leave.
The guy walks up to the front of the store while i am about to leave and says "hey i found it on an overstock cart". The pegs where stocked full so he was probably telling the truth.
So i finally got the deadpool figure at retail, the one with the extra head and a dozen accessories. I told the guy you made my day and thanked him of course.
So yes there are some good people who work in retail.
I was also able to find and buy 2 e47a aj styles figures at my local k-mart before they closed a few months later. This was when it was hard to find that set anywhere other than paying double on ebay.

The TRU Booker T baf set just hit, they're loaded, and I was comparing the paint apps between 2 Undertakers, this other guy came down to the same spot in the aisle, I figure he's like me, I bet he's looking for the same stuff, maybe we might even have a conversation, so I step aside and in a panicked way, without a word, this f'n dude grabs every single one of them off the pegs(there were 4+ of each), tucked them under his chin, and ran to the registers, I couldn't believe it, I was speechless with 2 Takers in my hands like "what the...", I didn't end up buying anything, that greedy dude turned my trip into a waste. Come to find out that's the local ebay scalper and he still does this to this day. I had another interaction with him a year or 2 ago, when Target had HOF elites on sale for $8, I got there about a minute earlier than him, so I took the case from the pallet and picked out one of each HoF4 as I was putting them on the pegs, he comes up to me and says, "Not to be a d**k, but are there any that you're NOT going to buy?". I passed him the other half, then he went on about how he has "thousands of dollars" worth of figures at his house or whatever, I wish he'd move to another state.
When Elite 30 hit, I checked my local Walmart, and they only had the butt half, so I got suspicious and dropped down to the floor and found Lex and LOD underneath the shelving, I was both happy to get them and happy to screw over a hider.

Opposite happened to me once. I was browsing at whatever was on the pegs are Toys R Us, and this guy comes down the aisle with a cart full of Marvel and other lines. We make eye contact and he keeps moving. I saw him go to the WWE section as I left.

Called my Target on the speculated street date of HOC1 and they said they had it. I asked if they could hold some for me and they did. Went to pick them up after work and on a whim asked if they had NXT3 Roode. The guy went to the back and came out with a smile on his face and a figure in his hand and I was ecstatic.

I definately have a lot of stories like that....
Found the Heenan Family when that was definately my most wanted figure to find. Found HOF 1 Austin at like 7am when it first hit. Such a great feeling. Finally Found DM Sting at Target a few years ago. One of the first to find that one. At toys r us I remember being one of the 1st to find the BAF Johnny set as well as the BAF Paul Heyman set in TRU Times Square Being the first on the board to find E39 at Retail. Found at TRU.
I remember nearly all my findings haha. Nothing like being one of the first. Such great memories

Only time I hid figures was when the holidays were approaching and TRU had the free giveaway figure when you spent X amount of dollars on WWE figs. I think it was the year of Triple H and a couple weeks before the start of the promotion I saw whatever BAF line was out at the time plus that HHH. I grabbed the set and took them to where the big power wheels cars were. There was an Escalade on the upper shelf so I put them in there. Couple weeks later they were still there.

I picked a pretty good time to start collecting. I picked up a couple figures on a whim - Elite Bulldog and WM Razor - but had no interest in building a collection. I started reading this forum to get an idea of what other older wrestlers were available, and maybe a week later saw that Target was having a sale on the HOF Elites for $10. I stopped at one near work and was happy to find Jimmy Hart and Macho from Series 3, and stupidly passed on DiBiase. But I really wanted Yoko and Warrior from the earlier series. I decided to drive to a Target a little farther up to see what they had, and they had complete sets of HOF1 and HOF2, minus Trish. Suddenly I went from having 2 figures to having a small collection.
Another couple weeks after that Target had a 50% off sale on regular Elites. At that point I decided to collect the figures, and it's snowballed from there. A week later I found the DM Crow Sting, Hogan, and Razor at a K-Mart store closing sale for around $12 each. I was spoiled early on, finding full waves of figures that had been released a year or more earlier. And I just assumed that getting figures for half off was commonplace. I don't think I've seen another 50% off sale since then! Without those discount sales, I wonder if I might have just been happy putting those first two figures on a bookcase shelf and calling it a day and forgetting about wrestling figures again.

Went to TRU on the morning the DM 2 Austin released and found like 3 pegs full of him. Grabbed him and the NS Hunter and even better was that the cashier rang the DM up for 19.99. Not exciting but it was a pretty cool morning.

When my kid still liked wrestling figures, I took him to TRU and we found a Roman Reigns that was open and missing whatever it was he came with. My kid was upset that people steal so I told him to take it to the nearest associate. The employee asked if she wanted us to check to see if there were anymore Roman’s in the back. Well, we didn’t care about a Roman at all but I thought it to be rude to tell the lady no thanks and she came back out with an unopened box which contained Rick Rude (for me) and Tyson Kidd for my kid. It was a lesson that sometimes good things happen to good people.
Not figure related but Ken Shamrock sent a Tweet to me for my kid on his birthday.
