Darn shame that the DM line didn't perform, or didn't meet many people's expectations. Loved the look of those things MOC. When the line was first relaunched, I had gotten MOC versions of every fig, and gotten a second most of the time for the fig or the accessories. Too bad the terrible distribution and stores over ordering one guy mostly ruined it. Ended up missing 4 of the final 8 figs. That’s exactly what happened at my local Walmart with the megamaniacs ultimate warrior, they must of literally had hundreds of em that weren’t even moving until they were marked down to $5-10.

My favorites: - Randy Savage WM7 - Ultimate Warrior WM7 - Bret Hart - Crow Sting - Hulk Hogan - Razor Ramon - Ric Flair black robe - Undertaker Biggest misses for me: - Ultimate Warrior (ultimate maniacs) - Ric Flair blue robe - Chris Jericho - Shinsuke Nakamura - Stone Cold (3 belts) These should be actual defining moments and choose guys with accessories. I don't like any of the street great figures. And there's the problem. The 5 you listed were 5 of the last 8 DM figures released, I believe. I know that was around the time Bill was saying clothgoods had gotten a lot more expensive. But at the price point there wasn't a lot to get excited about with those figures. Warrior and Savage UMs was a perfect opportunity for a HOF 2 pack, to put them in separate lines was a huge fail on Mattels part and that move, i believe, killed the DM line, whoever made that decision is the reason the DM line is finished, harsh? Maybe. True? Very possibly

Gutting, Ultimate Edition line should be good though, as long as its a premium figure, around the £60-£75 mark and very limited edition Never gonna happen. They'll never produce a line that they expect to sell WELL at nearly $80 per figure.

Once Nakamura came out, stores had already lost interest in the line because of all their backlog of Warriors or Cenas. I know my Kmart still had a couple 2015 release Razor Ramon's on the shelf last year, on top of the 2016 release GAB Sting. That is until its closure announcement and all the vultures descended upon it.

So a premium wwe line could sell, limited edition, wwe shop or amazon exclusives, even ringside

The new DM line started out red hot with many FTITL highly requested flashbacks. Flair, Hogan, Hall and Sting all in a row. The hype around here was unreal when these were shown.
Then their fourth DM of 2015 (?) and the 1st DM of 2016 (Hollywood) were both scrapped and had to be replaced. Undertaker and Austin were good enough for replacements but weren't exciting releases after all the FTITL figures.
Surfer Sting finally came out after being previewed nearly a year earlier, but to most users, he was a major letdown in terms of execution.
They had the chance to rebuild the hype for the line after a couple re-releases and the letdown Surfer Sting, but they decided to go with the barebones Ultimate Maniacs Warrior instead, arguably the worst DM of all time. It should have been in the main Elite line alongside the UM Macho Man.
Cena was the same as Warrior. It could have easily been in the main line and was just a terribly boring "Defining Moments" release after what they started off with.
Surely they'd bring the hype back to line for the next year, right? Nope, they put out another Flair with terrible part choices and inaccurate deco that proved they didn't even cross reference the attire when designing it.
Nakamura was a nice FTITL release that seemed hard to get ahold of, unlike the others. These still might end up showing up in the discount stores though.
Macho Man was a wonderful figure and was an excellent DM release.
Y2J was a good figure but not an exciting release. They also chose his most basic, bland attire when most wanted his WMX8 bright attire and entrance jacket.
They started off hot and seemed to be putting out better releases by the end of it. They really killed off any hype the line had left after all the re-releases by putting out Ultimate Maniacs Warrior and Cena in the line.

screech that is a spot on summary of the highs and lows of the DM relaunch. I started writing something similar and scrapped it lol.

I know it has it's issues, but I love this Flair... the head and robe are fantastic - and as I'm a MIB collector, luckily the faults are hidden.

Managed to snag one at a Walmart near me, the only time I saw them on shelves. Opened the thing up originally but kept the box, and may repack for my DM collection since the market is flush with Nakamura's.

The head and robe are incredible which makes me sad that they messed up the rest. I'm honestly more bothered that they didn't cross reference the attire for a premium line figure and just went by memory than I am by the bad torso choice. But as you stated, the flaws are hidden behind the robe and it looks fantastic with it on. Outside of the design aspects, it was just a buzzkill having this announced after a whole year plus of disappointing DM releases.

Yes it’s canceled. And the EG that took their place are also canceled after Goldberg is release. They mentioned a new line at SDCC would be taking their place, but they didn’t give any information on what to except yet. Yeh just saying the comments saying itill be called the “ultimate line” wonder what the concept or price will be like for it? Gonna be really interesting & hope the packaging is just as good as dm was, it’s a must as moc collector
