Matt Hardy put out a cryptic tweet the other day that seemed to tease retirement. I'm not going to bother going into it, I'm sure it was discussed here. But he has sent out another tweet confirming a very serious injury. His lower back is fusing with his pelvis. I think this might really be it for him. I guess I'm glad he got his final WWE run. It's one last shot at the big time and a validation of his Broken character but I was hoping that he'd be able have a much better last run back on the indies before calling it a career.

This is completely plausible. Neither Hardy has been known to play it safe with their bodies. So it's only a matter of time till it catches up to everyone.
At his age and at this stage of his career, he's got nothing left to prove. While, I'm not a huge fan of the the Broken/Woken gimmick, it revitalized his career. Sure, it didn't go overly great in WWE, due to several issues. But he still got a last run that many would love to have.
So IF this is it, he can hold his head high. He's had a great (bow legged) run. Sorry, I had to.

Sad to hear. Really sad. But on the bright side, he still has plenty to offer in a non-wrestling capacity, whether it be GM, a manager, a commentator, or a trainer for NXT.
I think Matt would be a fantastic commentator, personally. Could really play well off Graves, too. Go away, Coach.

Sucks to hear that this could be the end for Matt and also the Hardy Boyz as a tag team. But he's in his early 40's now and has had a 25 year or so career, thats a heel of a run and he's left a legacy of great matches, feuds and moments over the years.Crazy to think of the TLC crew and that Jeff the guy who did the craziest crap is going to end up being the last one standing.
On a side note if Matt retires his last run in WWE was pretty sad in terms of quality and how he was booked, wasn't a fan of the "Woken" gimmick or his feud and then team with Bray Wyatt.WWE real has dropped the ball with both of the Hardy Boyz during this run.Only think good that came from it was their returns at WM 33 which was epic.So I guess if I am trying to look at things from a positive side atleast they got one more memorable moment and a Wrestlemania moment before the end.

I'm a HUGE Broken Matt Hardy fan and even I think having him on commentary would be way too much. I highly doubt they'd use "regular" Matt Hardy for that. But I'm sure this is a moot conversation because you know they threw a dump truck full of money at Coach to get him away from ESPN and they're going to get every nasally penny's worth out of him.

it’s pretty unbelievable to me that these guys have been doing it for over 20 years considering their style and damage endured. Jeff especially.

It's crazy to see Matt be the first to ride into the sunset. If you asked me, and I think most fans, which Hardy would be retiring first, the answer would be Jeff. The fact that he's able to still walk up right, with all the crazy bumps he's taken is amazing. And sure it might be the end for Matt in the ring, but he's had a career that many guys could only dream of. He's held multiple titles, done what he's loved for over 2 decades, and been apart of some legendary moments in wrestling.

Jeff isn’t far behind, I’m sure. Which is perfectly okay. These guys returned “home” at a good time and are definitely high up there in age. They’ll be in the Hall of Fame within the next few years.
Now get Matt a job within the company. Whether it be an agent, or (hopefully) a writer.

If this is the end, there’s nothing wrong with retiring now. He’s accomplished so much and returned home. I’ve noticed he’s walked odd for awhile now

Hes had an incredible, innovative career so my hat is off to him. As others said, its suprising these guys have lasted as long as they did. Im sure he can kick ass as a manager, trainer etc etc

He could make a pretty decent YouTube show of his Broken world. He wouldn’t need to wrestle and any action can easily be done by others.

If you look at his career he's held more different titles then most just look at the list of titles that he's won.
WWF Tag Team Titles WWF European Title WWF Hardcore Title WWE Cruiserweight Title WWE United States Champion WWE Tag Team Titles WWE World Tag Team Titles WWE RAW Tag Team Title ECW Title WCW Tag Team Titles TNA World Title TNA Tag Team Titles ROH Tag Team Titles
and also jacked Jay Briscoe's self made World Title for a bit putting his own spin on it.That's one hell of a list of different title runs.

Really sad if he does have to retire. He's been my favorite wrestler since I started watching. Been with him his whole career since I've been a fan. I remember all the other kids loved Jeff, but I liked Matt. Not only did we share the same first name and last initial but I just flat out enjoyed him more, and it went on from there. As much as I knew things would eventually catch up to him, this is still a really big blow here. Was hoping Broken/Woken Matt could get an actual WWE World Title run before his retirement. Plus, he's one of the most over on the current roster. Those delete chants are ing loud every single night Either way, no matter what happens Broken/Woken Matt Hardy Version 1.0 Will Not Die

He could make a pretty decent YouTube show of his Broken world. He wouldn’t need to wrestle and any action can easily be done by others. Oh my god I love it! He could do an modern day take on the old horror films shows like Tales from the Crypt. He'd be the new Crypt Keeper! He'd be a odd setting doing his weird Woken/Broken gimmick and then they could cut to a match. After the match, he makes a funny pun and the credits roll. What great is, I could totally see Matt loving this idea.

Just thinking how awesome it would be if Matt were setting this up Mark Henry style lol-looking like his is returning to regular old real life Matt and retiring. He brings his family out to the ring, whole nine yards, crying etc. then Matt reveals he truly is now 'Broken' thanks to Wyatt not holding his end of he team and attacks Bray. 'Queen Rebecca' looks on in approval and it all leads to one final battle and Final Deletion. lol
But yeah serious though, sadly looks like the end for real and a real shame. But man, thanks so much for all of the amazing entertainment Matt has given us.

He's had a great wrestling career and he's one of the very few guys that's been wrestling nonstop since the attitude era.
