It was never intended to be, but this is where we're at now.
Eight and a half years of both men proving each other wrong. Bryan became the star that Miz said he never could, and Miz has had the longevity as a top superstar that Bryan and the vast majority of the internet thought was far-fetched for him.
They're the complete antithesis of each other, yet have shown that you don't need to come from a certain background or follow a certain path to reach the main event, and they can't stand that about the other.
They've never been shown on-screen as being friendly towards one another. Every time they've interacted, they've been at one another's throat.
In the time that they've been feuding, they've both become WWE Champion and even walked out of WrestleMania main events with it. They've both won the Intercontinental Title with Miz having eight reigns with the damn thing. They both won Money in the Bank. Both were ranked No.1 in the PWI 500. Their résumés are practically one in the same and have earned respect from their peers... except each other because they can't let go of the fact that the other still exists in WWE.
Professional wrestling may never land another storyline by accident this great again.

It’s is undoubtedly one of the more captivating feuds within wwe. miz has surprised even his greatest haters, including myself.

Loved the 3 video packages from tonight, overall it's the best book feud this year.

I want to add that I was a freshman in high school when the first season of NXT started.
I’m now a senior in college, and Miz and Bryan are still beefing.
I love legends who can’t get along.

It is good but at the same time it feels rushed. I guess they have no choice though with the future of Bryan still in doubt.

Two of the greatest of all time in an incredible storyline that has lasted nearly a decade on and off.

The mark in me wants Bryan to win...but the business man in me has Miz beating him at SSlam.

It's been great. And the video packages last night really helped set the stage for those who haven't been around for the whole thing.
I do think there's more story to be told. I fully expect Bryan to re-sign (if he hasn't already), but still lose this one to Miz. Then we'll get another match or two out of this feud. Too much money to lose by not keeping this going awhile.

The video packages last night actually got me even more hyped for this match at SummerSlam than I already was for it.
It almost feels like it should be the main event at SummerSlam. It has that much passion and emotion for it to be the match of the night.
All I know is that whoever wins it, I hope the other demands a rematch.... inside the Hell in a Cell. But I doubt that will happen.

There is honestly so much more they could have done with this feud but I am happy they are making it a big deal as well as bringing up their 8 year history.
My only concern is with Bryans contract situation being out in the public like it is, there is a sense that this could really be it for him. While I expect Bryan to re-sign with the WWE, the possibility of him losing to Miz and leaving just like that gives me an ill feeling.
Which is why I despise contracts of WWE stars being talked about by Meltzer and all over the internet like it is.

The writers started writing this story eight years ago! Everything that has happened over the last eight years leading up to this match was 100% scripted! Daniel Bryan sold everyone on his “injury” it was ALL in the script! Bravo 👏 Bravo 👏!!! The following was a paid advertisement by the WWE writers in response to claims by WFigs board members that they don’t know how to write.

The feud should've started sooner than it did. Bryan requested that Miz got drafted back to Smackdown and then they both ignored each other for months.

I never looked at it that way until now and I have to agree. It’s basically been an eight year feud. I can’t even tell if it’s a work or shoot at times and you can relate to both sides. Two career long rivals who have had great success the other doesn’t feel they deserve at each other’s expense. It doesn’t get much better than that.

Anything "wrong" with it is easily disregarded for the fact that the overall story is great. We love Daniel and we hate Miz and we have waited for this payoff of seeing Miz bleed and be outclassed by Bryan in definitive fashion for almost a decade. We might not get it in this one match, but boy will I enjoy this match as I await that moment.
