I'm getting the feeling that most of you guys didn't listen to the podcast or whatever. I agree. The hate is gets is unwarranted. If you don't like the guy, then don't listen to his podcast. No one is making you. And all of you that say you "hate him" probably haven't listened to a full show of his at all. Even if you don't like his shows, he is a very talented writer. At least give credit where credit is due in that regard. But when it comes to the Peyton Royce comment, you are all listening/ reading it out of context. He has always defended women and hates the sexist nature of the business. He was saying that he feels she did not need these "enhancements" and that she was better before them. He never once said she was ugly or fat. He said the opposite. How about you take a breather before jumping down someone'e throat? sorry but then he should've been more clear. He said she was better looking lighter, which can refer to weight. if He had just said She looked better without Implants then that wouldn't have been as bad

Meltzer is a crap-talking douchebag, so no surprise there. He deserves every backlash he gets.

You make comments about WWE making angles out of James Ellsworth's chin and Vince calling Bryan tiny, and the Pudding and Evening Gown matches, and you refer to those as "body-shaming." Is it? Yes. But you also completely failed to discuss the fact that for women as a whole, especially in the entertainment field (be it modeling, acting, or wrestling), your weight and your looks are very, very important to how far you're able to get. Of course, talent is another key aspect for wrestling, but for women's wrestling in WWE, it's basically a 70-30 balance of looks to talent. When someone from outside the company with as much following as Dave Meltzer does says "I think she looked a lot lighter in NXT", it's an issue that needs to be addressed. You can say he was referring to her breast augmentation until you're blue in the face, but I highly doubt that was what he meant. Meltzer is no saint, and has done this plenty of times in an era with a way of thinking that should now be obsolete. Yet since that time, until Peyton called him out for his comments, he showed no sign of attempting to change his mindset towards the matter. Not to mention that the comments he made about her should never have even been made in the first place, otherwise this situation easily could have been avoided. EDIT: In fact, one of your colleagues wrote their own piece on the situation that points out the fact that whether he meant her breast augmentation or her weight, it is body-shaming her either way based on the fact that at the end of the day, he's still criticizing her for the choices she's made regarding how she wants herself to look.I don't get what WWE's decision to run Saudi Arabia has anything to do with Meltzer basically criticizing Peyton Royce's appearance and her choices to change said appearance. Where WWE chooses to book their events is not nor will it ever be the wrestlers' decision or their problem if they're still getting paid a specific monthly salary and not by appearance, which every full-time WWE talent are, so why would they be up in arms about something out of their control? Am I defending their choice to go to Saudi Arabia? No. But that is completely irrelevant to the situation at hand, so there's no base behind using that as part of your argument of this being blown up out of proportion. TLDR; At the end of the day, Dave Meltzer does not pay Peyton Royce's bills and does not send her checks in the mail, so quite frankly, he should keep his mouth shut about her looks.

He even looks the part of a sad little troll 😂 So the right thing to do is go back at him by making fun of how he looks? Very hypocritical...

This just needs to be locked already. marino13 has a much higher tolerance than me, because I probably would have locked it after clicking on it and seeing it had nothing to do with Batista when the original title referenced Big Dave. lol

Who cares about this? Like really cares...because if something someone said about someone else is hurting your feelings...isn't there something else you could do to channel your weird rage?

TLDR; At the end of the day, Dave Meltzer does not pay Peyton Royce's bills and does not send her checks in the mail, so quite frankly, he should keep his mouth shut about her looks. What Meltzer said wasnt body shaming. If he had said "Peyton needs to get implants because her chest is too small and you have to have big boobs to be attractive"- that is body shaming. Is someone not allowed to have an opinion if they think someone is attractice or not? He even said he liked her better with a SMALLER chest, which is contradictory to most stereotypes. Plus, Alvarez steered the conversation to her looks. Meltzer initially was talking about her in-ring work. I think the issue blew up because Peyton first overreacted IMO, then came the social media onslaught, and I also think the initial comments were taken in a way depending on people's view of Meltzer himself. If you didnt like Meltzer in the first place, you probably thought his comments were out of line. You even say in your post you highly doubt that's what he meant even though I think the conversation and the transcript clearly demonstrate what he was alluding to and was even trying to avoid saying outright. You also basically said that body shaming is much worse for women because their looks are a "70-30" split as far as the effect on their career. Where do you get those percentages? I agree that that is probably the perception, and is probably why so many women DO get cosmetic surgery, which is a knock on WWE, but like I said, you cant call someone else out for drawing attention to your said surgery if you arent calling out the company that you felt inclined to get the surgery for in order to succeed at in the first place. And are you saying body shaming men is OK or not as big of a deal because in your opinion the men's looks dont effect their career as much? You think Vince doesnt prefer a certain body type in his male wrestlers as opposed to others? Come on now...
