I don't know if it was the best breakup, but man those matches were intense. I'm speaking of Sullivan and Benoit in WCW. They had been teaming up as part of the Alliance to End Hulkamania. After that failed, Benoit and Sullivan began a series of matches that were very similar to the feud Sullivan and Pillman were starting but which ended abruptly. It was like they recycled the idea, but Benoit and Sullivan were out for blood. By the standards back then, it puts Ciampa and Gargano to shame. Oh that was a breakup alright.

Not sure if you're alluding to the Nancy Sullivan/Kevin Sullivan divorce as well... But, what made that feud even mroe intense for me was Woman screaming during those matches. Made it seem like a real fight as opposed to something scripted.

But even if that hadn't happened, that still would have been one of the best feuds of the era. TBH I couldn't remember why it began so I didn't know it would qualify as a break up feud though.

I always thought it was a continuation of the Pillman story but when I rewatched it I saw there was an alliance btw the dungeon and the horsemen.
