I guess I didn't realize there had been that many episodes. That's like a Cheers run. Holy sh*t. But yeah, I enjoy the show. My wife pretty much only watches Friends and Big Bang to fall asleep to at night and so it's been a constant in my life for like a decade.
Nothing to really be sad about. More so a celebration of a run with that kind of longevity and popularity. It's going to be syndicated for years. So it's not like it's really going anywhere from my life.

Don't they all hate each other behind the scenes anyway?
Good riddance, literally one of my top 5 least favorite shows of all time.

I like the show, but the longer it has gone on, I find myself enjoying it less and less. I liked it in the beginning.
But the whole purpose of the show has kind of been lost.
Leonard chasing Penny....they are married. That chase is over. Sheldon is afraid of intimacy...he's had sex with Amy and they are now married. That part of the show is over. Howard can't find a woman...he's married to Bernadette and they have TWO kids. That part of the show is over.
The only thing from the beginning of the show that are still true is the elevator is still broken and Raj is bad with women,...but even he has had a few relationships during the show.
The Big Bang Theory where almost all of the main characters are married and no longer suffer from whatever their OCD's, social anxieties, or other personality disorders was like half of season 8 and all of season 9 of X-Files when they tried to do it without David Duchovny.
Overall....it's been a great show. It's had an amazing run. But in my opinion, the show has gotten too far away from what the original purpose was, and I think it's a good time to end it.

All good points. I had this discussion with my wife the other day too. They've almost wrapped every storyline up. Basically, the last things they need to do are to: Reveal Penny's (maiden) last name Reveal where Howard's father is Fix the elevator Get Raj married off I suppose they could also give Penny and Leonard or Sheldon and Amy (or both couples) a baby A whole season is plenty of time to wrap that stuff up and send the show off without any unanswered questions.

It's a good show. It was time however. Especially if Jim Parsons was leaving. Look at 2 and a half men post Sheen. It SUUUUCCCKKKKKKEEEDDDDDDD.
I never understood why so many people hate the show so vocally. Is it because you don't understand the big words? Is it because you can't stand anything that is mainstream? Are you just one of those jokes that also doesn't like GoT because "the plot doesn't make sense"?

Are you just one of those jokes that also doesn't like GoT because "the plot doesn't make sense"? I think people just think it's so cool to hate something mainstream. It's the most popular show on TV each year pretty much. Nearly 20million people watch it. It also has the highest or 2nd highest syndication ratings of any show every year. It's had a historic run. It is perfectly fine to not like or watch the show if you've even took time to watch it. It's fine to say you don't like it, but to crap on it and tell people how terrible it is, just isn't me. I don't watch or have any interest in all the uber popular Superhero franchises out there, but I don't go on forums and crap on them. I just don't watch. The same with modern Wresting. I don't watch, so I don't ridicule it, but yet so many tune in each week just to complain. I think it's just a "look at me" maturity issue.

My mom and grandma LOVE this show...I can’t stomach it. It’s not funny, I don’t like scientists and Sheldon is just a pain. The only character I could relate to or like was Penny.

Probably the reason why most ppl don't like something mainstream is because this certain mainstream thing absolutely sucks.
The big words said in the show and whether or not people understand what they say has nothing to do with it and that comes off incredibly pretentious especially when someone doesn't like the same thing as you do.
And when someone says they DON'T LIKE something for various reasons, that is the same exact thing you do when you say you DO LIKE something for various reasons. It's an opinion. The "look at me" maturity issues can be directed at you when you say things like that.
You're basically saying that because some people don't enjoy the same thing essentially every one else does, their opinion is invalid and they're just trying to be cool or edgy. Maybe its you that's trying to be edgy because your feelings got hurt that someone doesn't like what you like.

What FSUsambaker said above is perfectly fine and his opinion. Just like I stated I don't care for SuperHero movies, Walking Dead, etc. I may had commented in the that 70s show or Roseanne thread on here and stated, I watched and never cared for either. It is all opinion and personal preference. However when someone states it as fact that a show is terrible and ridicules people for watching it, I don't agree with that and I think it's a sign of immaturity. My comments also werent aimed at you. I was like some others taken aback by the hate for it on other platforms and personal attacks toward someone who does like it. I dont care what anyone likes and doesn't. I like very little that is popular, but would never state my opinion on a show as fact and ridicule others for watching. You like what you like.

Its more or less directed at the guy you quoted because I don't get why someone would more or less say "oooh they must not like that show because they don't understand big words". And really the only thing I had an issue with as far as you go is how (and if I misunderstood, then that's on me) you said its a "look at me" mentality do go against what someone else likes.

All good man. Just opinions, and stuff gets misinterpreted on a board. Like I told you, I was more or less referring to other platforms and people that only comment in a negative way no matter the subject for whatever reason. Trolls I guess. I just don't them.
