We all know that Reigns is eventually going to drop the Universal Championship (though I'm sure if it were up to Vince, he'd keep the belt on him forever XD), but I'd like to know, who would you want to see as a future Universal Champion? In no particular order, I'll list a few of my picks here (excluding Braun Strowman, because he's probably gonna be the next champion).
-Seth Rollins
I believe that Rollins should've been the one to dethrone Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, and I'm sure many would agree. From his performance in the Gauntlet Match, to his excellent run with the Intercontinental Championship, Rollins has proved that he is a certified main event star. Even before that, Seth was one of the best guys they had on the roster. To me, I'd like to think he's like the Raw equivalent to AJ Styles. I think he could have a great run with the Universal Title.
-Kevin Owens
If this happens, Kevin Owens would become the first ever 2-Time Universal Champion. Obviously, it's gonna take a bit of time for WWE to get Owens back on track as a legitimate threat again following the Braun feud. We need to start seeing the badass, ruthless heel Kevin Owens that we all knew and loved. We need the Kevin Owens that beat Cena clean on his first PPV match. The Kevin Owens that headbutted Vince McMahon. I honestly think that once they build KO back up again, he can have a better run with the Universal Championship the second time around.
-Finn Balor
This one is an obvious choice. The first ever Universal Champion, who only just got his rematch this past Monday, in a very good match with Reigns. Balor, despite being held back by WWE, is still very over with the crowd, and a very solid worker. Giving him the title again could really do wonders for him.
-Dean Ambrose
I believe that Ambrose is going to turn heel on Rollins and Reigns in the same fashion as Rollins back in 2014. As a heel, I think Ambrose would be a perfect champion. I would have Reigns defend the title in a triple threat match at Mania against Rollins and Ambrose, and have Ambrose win it there. Though, I don't know if that'll happen, because Strowman is probably gonna already be Champion sometime soon. Unless Reigns wins it back before Mania, but I don't see that happening. Who really knows, though? WWE has a tendency to swerve us a lot.
So, share your thoughts on who you want to be a future Universal Champion, or your thoughts on my choices!
