Unfortunately, I think Owens has hit his peak as a heel for now, as far as WWE’s standards are concerned...
But where do you think he goes from here after quitting? Face turn? Long hiatus? Injury?

Theoretically it could be all three, but I'm hoping it's a face turn. He's gonna crush it if he does.

On a Facbook Group I'm a part of, someone said that this was done as part of a talent exchange to permit "Free Agent" KO to get ALL INto something as a sign of goodwill to perhaps coax some YOUNG talent to FINALly join WWE. That was based on a report the member had access to. Someone else speculated that he's taking a work related vacation on a cruise from Florida in October. Of the two theories, the first seems more realistic given the time frame. But, both are far fetched.

Yeah, I don’t believe either of those.

I would love to see KO posting pics on social media of him “enjoying time at home with his family” and have some weekly segments of like Cathy Kelley or someone trying to get in contact with KO. You constantly see him avoiding her, or telling her to stop bothering him. Something similar to when Bischoff was trying to track Austin down to get him to come back.

Personally I wan to see him don a mask and compete as a separate gimmick, preferably a face. Wish this scenario would had started back after WM, teaming with Sami under a mask (always wondered how Zayn would perform with one ). This could be a work-shoot thing to cover up contract stuff. Could be time off to clear up small, nagging injuries. Could be to write him off a while because their initial long-term plans for him involved Zayn. Could be a way to distract from how Braun Strowman has suddenly inherited all of Kev's cowardly heel traits, despite the writing team having perfect opportunities to have Owens as MITB holder in the first place.

I would send him back down to NXT.

I would send him back down to NXT. NXT is too full. He also has his “character” down perfectly. Owens honestly just needs the push he’s deserved ever since he lost the Universal Championship to Goldberg in a squash.

a face turn could do him some good.

He is gonna come out next week on Raw as "Dude Love" and interrupt a match between Roman Reigns and Mr. McMahon.

He has lost to everyone on the roster that is in his league. I think a refresher in NXT would help. At this point, he’ll be in some laughable angle and fully diminish his character beyond repair.

Jinder Mahal was a jobber on RAW and WWE Champion months later. It’s wrestling in 2018, there is no credibility to anything anymore. Even the simplest ideas become unrealistic within this company.

His booking is criminal. This time a year ago he was a main guy on Smackdown and now he's been reduced to a jobber.

I've heard two rumors today. This one (less plausible of the two) was on a wrestling news site... They claim KO is headed to SD. The other (the one I hope is true) I read on a news app on my phone... They claim KO will return in a few weeks with Paul Heyman at his side. KO will not speak, but will let Heyman do all the talking. He will also be booked as a legit badass like he was when he first got called up.

Corbin gives Owens the case and he cashes in after Roman beats Braun.

I’m thinking:
1- He comes back as a Paul Heyman guy, and we see the return of the badass KO we all missed. 2- He comes back as a face. 3- Corbin gives him the contract, and he cashes in on Roman after the match with Braun.
Whatever the case may be, this storyline is very intriguing. And as a KO mark, it’s so great to finally see him in something meaningful again.

It's the WWE main roster creative team(aka Vince), so it's probably not going anywhere good, or as good as we all hope it will. Remember Ziggler's initial return after his hiatus? He didn't do anything of note until Drew showed up. Vince had 9 month to come up with something good for Dean to do when he came back and the best they had for him last night was Jinder.
I will always have hope, but little faith. Most of the good stuff that happens in WWE these days is completely by accident, luck or is a result of the sheer will of the Superstars.
