Intresting stuff, if he ends up doing a singles match at mania, wish he could work somebody different. What about Rock? Or any chance Sting could do one more match? I haven't really followed closely in years, so don't know how bad Sting was hurt. Don't really care to see him lose to Taker for the 3rd time though. Looking back, I think the constant jobbing of Michaels was something that contributed to me falling away from wrestling in the mid 2000's. Sure, I was working full time and had kids by then to take up my time, but HBK was my favorite wrestler since late 92'. I was so excited to see him come out of retirement. But, it seemed like all he did was job after he came back. Sure, he usually had the best match on the show, but when you lose all the time, it's a downer for your diehard fans. And if he did win a big match, he would usually have his ass handed to him in a post match attack. That was mostly Shawn's doing. He didnt want to be the top guy anymore, that's why he lost all the time.

If he comes back, They need to give em this long forgotten theme song of his(Old school fans will know it right away) Ah, I remember this. Rhapsody in Blue. Remember how United used to use it in their commercials too?

God I hope not. That WM26 match is one of my all time favorites, him returning now would kinda tarnish that match.

Rumor has it that it's going to be Undertaker & Kane vs. Triple H & Shawn Michaels for Saudi Araba.
Both Michaels and Lesnar are getting a huge paycheck.

So then do:
Taker vs HHH in October DX vs Brothers of Destruction in November Taker vs HBK at Mania with Shawn going over and Taker retiring
The end.

HBK vs Rock and HBK vs Sting would also be huge! I've been a huge fan of this guy since I was a casual viewer and I'd love to see one final run in the company with one more World Title run.

I've been wanting to see the BOD vs DX for a VERY long time. Better late than never.

Anyone that is "rah rah" for HBK returning after retiring, I'm gonna do background checks to see if you were one of those bitching a Flair when he did it.

Nobody believed for a second he was going to stay retired, especially with his financial woes, but with Shawn Michaels, fans really believed he would keep his word.

one match isn't going to tarnish Shawn's legacy. I'm all for this.

Shawn Michaels wrestling at SA would be a bad return considering most of the people don't know who he is. If he's going to wrestle again it should be at Wrestlemania. I'm going to take the time time respond to both parts of your post. First the whole "Shawn wrestling at SA would be a bad return considering most of the people don't know who he is." For the Greatest Royal Rumble didn't SA want guys like Yokozuna and the Ultimate Warrior to appear, if they don't know those guys are dead they probably know who Shawn Michaels is over someone like Kevin Owens as an example. Second "If he's going to wrestle again it should be at WrestleMania" While I do agree with that, a Shawn Micheals singles match return should and only happen at WrestleMania, if the SA match is the rumoured DX V BoD I am okay with that match taking place on the SA show or any other WWE Network Special.

So glad this is looking like a reality. Especially in the location. They really deserve some special moments in their history seeing as it's just getting started.

While I don’t disagree at all, I do find the situations a little different. Flair left the company and wrestled for Impact. I wasn’t watching them much, so I can’t remember if they even mentioned it when he had his first match there. Taker retired Michaels, and he’s remained committed to it until now, and it appears the storyline is going to involve Taker being the one to say it’s okay for him to return. Maybe it’s just me, but I find it funny how creative can botch continuity, sometimes week to week, but when these old guards pop back in on occasion they make sure they hit every fine detail.

Maybe it’s just me, but I find it funny how creative can botch continuity, sometimes week to week, but when these old guards pop back in on occasion they make sure they hit every fine detail. Flair was 59. HBK was 44 when he retired and he's still only 53. When Flair retired, the moment was perfect and there didn't feel like any unfinished business. HBK had an amazing retirement match, it really doesn't get much better, but there was a ton of "yeah, but..." with him. He missed an entire decade of guys he could have easily stuck around to work against. Even now, there are matches fans still want, like AJ, Bryan, Gargano, Joe, etc.. I'm with both of you in that I really didn't have a problem with Flair doing whatever he wanted to do, but I get why HBK specifically was upset by it. You kind of hit the nail on the head as to why I think fans hated him not staying retired. What he did in TNA was bad. I enjoyed his feud with Jay Lethal but aside from that it was a lot of stuff people would largely rather forget, like bleeding all over the place with a broken down Hogan, riding around in a wheel chair, and wrestling Matt Morgan. I think fans, collectively, just wanted to remember Flair for the last time in those ending moments of the Mania 24 match. The story leading up to it, the guy he was wrestling, the emotion that poured out of both men. Flair essentially had the "won the Super Bowl in his last game" moment and then decided to go play Arena Football in Orlando afterwards.
