Not the 1st time I’ve seen a this sign & it really doesn’t seem to cause issues when asking for someone to check for extras in the back.

Funko collectors are a special type, I stock things and I got accused of hiding the good ones by a trio of them, you don't even get that with Hot Wheels guys. That's why I like WWE Mattel , because they're consistent and even though you have a few exceptional collectors, people usually aren't taking the cases off of pallets immediately like Marvel or Transformers, and nobody reeeeally cares. It's unfortunate, but some employees have given everyone a bad name. I'm thinking specifically about Target, because I don't think I've seen it as much at other retailers, but there are employees who don't put stuff out on the floor, but keep it in the back to flip. Lots of reports of someone at Target telling customers they never got them in, but then finding a user selling multiples of the Pop in question on eBay or OfferUp later that same day. I understand why the employees flip too, it's BECAUSE of those crazy collectors. You buy 6 Pops for 9 bucks a piece and sell them for 50 each? No brainer. On the other hand, throwing out accusations at someone when you just don't know is silly. The store might NOT have gotten them in, or someone might have beaten you to the punch. After all, if it's something hot or in demand, you're not going to be the only one after it. That all goes back to people saying "Damn scalpers got them all!" Well, did they? What if another collector beat you there?

This has been popping up at a few chains due to a request by Funko. Funko has listened to complaints of scalpers (seriously scalpers are the worst when it comes to Funko Pops) and asked stores to follow new rules with regards to chases and store exclusives.
I think this is great if stores follow it as I won’t have to see someone shove people out of the way when a store opens just to buy a full case of Funko Pop Pikachu’s or whatever the new popular figure is.

That sign is totally useless anyway. I am pretty sure employees scalp all the good stuff for themselves or sell on eBay/facebook/etc.

You couldn’t even actually find a chase in a store now. Before any of friends series 2 even hit, they Monica chase figures were on eBay for $50+

I honesty don't get how this will stop scalpers. Surely they could send friends and family members into the stores to buy the product.
Also would checkout staff really care what customers are buying? If you have a long queue of customers you don't stop and look at every product, you want them scanned as quickly as possible.

I went to a Target yesterday and bought two of The Noid pops for two people looking for them on Facebook. I even told the person running the electronics that I was looking for two. Didn't tell him what they were for. He had no issues telling me where they were. This Target had set up the Ad Icons on an end cap which is why I couldn't find them. I doubt this will get enforced.

The whole thing with so called scalpers is nonsense anyways, good luck to someone trying make a few dollars i say, its the thrill of the hunt, its always been the same, they can order online or direct now anyway so so-called scalpers dont even have to go to stores, the reason people dont see popular figures on shelves is because they are f'n POPULAR! lol rant over

All you need is any kind of smart phone and see what an item is selling on ebay. So even if an employee can't buy it they probably have a friend that can pick it up for them. If retail stores paid people better this probably would not be as bad of a problem, but they don't so this is where we are in life.

My local target is the only place I’ve ever actually found a funko chase out in the wild. I was even more excited cause it was the HHH one. I was also able to find the sexy Ian Malcom there at a different time. So I’m assuming whoever stocks there doesn’t really pay attention and that’s a good thing.

Target used to be awesome for me. I'd give them the DPCI, they'd go get the toys. No problem. The ones near me have always been cool. Until they switched their scanning and DPCI system. Now, literally, every single one "No, there's nothing back there". They don't even check the scanners half the time.
I'm not mad at the underpaid employees. I get it. They have to stock crap and don't want to get interrupted by some nerd. But also, like, just put stuff out dudes, first thing in the AM. Just put it out. You know I'm gonna ask. I see you have stuff in the back. YOU KNOW I KNOW! Just make it a policy "put stupid toys out first things for nerds" and we'll stop bugging you.

Target enforces these policies every so often. There's an employee/scalper working in my lower Target he's lied to mothers with little kids about items just so he can flip them. Usually if I need something I go to customer service and have them check for me. Lately the store pick-up is terrible and is off online it says they have the item and the store don't. The plus is now they can order the item for you and ship it to your house.

Everybody accuses Target, Toys R Us, Walgreens, etc employees of hiding and selling toys for themselves, but is there any widespread evidence of this? If those places had as many collectors or scalpers working there as people say there are, there wouldnt be all those repacks and switcheroos on the shelves.
