Funko collectors are a special type, I stock things and I got accused of hiding the good ones by a trio of them, you don't even get that with Hot Wheels guys. That's why I like WWE Mattel , because they're consistent and even though you have a few exceptional collectors, people usually aren't taking the cases off of pallets immediately like Marvel or Transformers, and nobody reeeeally cares. It's unfortunate, but some employees have given everyone a bad name. I'm thinking specifically about Target, because I don't think I've seen it as much at other retailers, but there are employees who don't put stuff out on the floor, but keep it in the back to flip. Lots of reports of someone at Target telling customers they never got them in, but then finding a user selling multiples of the Pop in question on eBay or OfferUp later that same day. I understand why the employees flip too, it's BECAUSE of those crazy collectors. You buy 6 Pops for 9 bucks a piece and sell them for 50 each? No brainer. On the other hand, throwing out accusations at someone when you just don't know is silly. The store might NOT have gotten them in, or someone might have beaten you to the punch. After all, if it's something hot or in demand, you're not going to be the only one after it. That all goes back to people saying "Damn scalpers got them all!" Well, did they? What if another collector beat you there? This is my thought too. I know two scalpers that stalk my area, seen them in action and then see them at the local toyshows and the flea market. But not only that, I personally know about ten other WWE collectors in my area, about 15 pop collectors and 20 or more Marvel Legends collectors. So when you take those 45 to 50 collectors that I see regularly on hunts for years and compare them to the 2 scalpers I see, I tend to just think stuff sold because they don't get a lot and they are popular.

Man I haven’t seen it like this since the Starting Lineup craze. My grandpa used to send me through the line to buy multiples 😂. The only difference is he still has them. He never tried to resell them, he intended to somewhere down the line but he didn’t. So I can’t really call him a scalper. The POP thing is a bit out of control. I don’t collect them except for some of the WWE ones and a few Stranger Things. Some nice girl was able to hold an SDCC exclusive Stranger Things set for me back in July. I got a few dirty looks when I went to the counter to pick it up. They are going to be right up there with beanie babies. In a few years no one will want POPs either I can't stand POP Vinyls. I don't get the appeal they have.

Because the look really cool displayed, most are one size so display really well, and they release them in small waves which are easy to collect and finish, and theyre cheap too, loads of good points

Same was said to me about my wrasslin colletion, so its as simple as "to each his/her own" I'm not a fan of pops either but I know if I collected them it would turn out pretty bad.

They tried the same crap with not being able to pull stuff from the back. The employees don’t care I used to work in the backroom at Target. We'd have boxes of newish figures in the back for months that were never brought to the front because it wasn't on the automatic list of stuff to put out. If I didn't put it out myself because I knew there was nothing on the shelves, they'd still be sitting in the back. Whatever policy you're mentioning is just absolutely stupid, but Target is adverse to actually selling things and making money.

That sign is totally useless anyway. I am pretty sure employees scalp all the good stuff for themselves or sell on eBay/facebook/etc. I posted this in the Tito thread: Just a somewhat random comment: When I was hunting for HOC 2 Figures this past weekend, I had gone to what I refer to as the Scalper Target. Eveyrtime there's an exclusive, there's been issues. For example, I got their super early (5am) to track down a Pikachu Pop. The tracker said it was in stock. I talked to a department manager (I guess?) and he told me they had them in stock and would bring them out. It was the day before. The store manager came out and said they can't sell them. THe next day, I came down super early again, first one in. The store manager said they never received the box. I told him you brought it out yesterday, and he flat out denied it. Last week, I asked the same department manager if they had HOC 2 bc it was showing in stock. He went to the back. While waiting that same store manager came out, asked if I needed help, and I told him I was looking for HOC 2. He "checked" on his scanner and said there was none. I wait 10 minutes after the store manager left, and the first department guy comes back with a fresh case. So IDK what's going on. Seems like he's hiding the exclusives to purchase himself and sell online. Where was I? This got away from me a bit... Oh yeah. So while waiting in the WWE aisle, the store manager said "Why on earth do we have 8 Tito Santana's?" Thought that was funny. Even the Scalper Target can't get rid of them. I will say I'm pretty sure, because the tracker for at least Pikachu went from in stock to out of stock after the store opened at 8am. So I'm certain he's buying them to sell. There’s a Walmart near me like that

This. I've never been embarrassed to be a toy collector, but I am embarrassed to be associated with other Pop collectors. I go out of my way to distance myself from others so as to not be lumped in with them. Agree. I rarely grab Pops unless it's something I really want. The only time I ever did the whole wait in line thing was for the Pikachu, and someone threatened to kill me over it. The guy was running in the parking lot, full speed and I had to jam on my breaks to avoid hitting him (Ok, Jam may be too strong of a word I was going 5 mph as I was turning into a spot. He had walked there and was popping out of a bush). The guy then waits as I park and threatens to hit me in the face when I get out. Then he sees the line and bolts to it because he wanted a PIkachu more I guess. Pops and Jordans...people go ing nuts over them. Unhealthily nuts.

Target hates toy collectors and scalpers I dont have a problem with stores refusing to go out the back and look for stuff, if the store tells staff not to thats fine, theyre the ones who pay their wages What i do have an issue with is limiting stock to 1 per customer

If people are so hell bent on getting multiples of the same item, buy one and just come back later in the day. I see people hiding things at Target all the time. Do what they do and be proactive.

They obviously hate my money then. As I have stated numerous times, the nearest Targets are an hour away. I've bought several items at their stores because associates have dug crap outta the back, including the latest HOC figures.
Will they count WWE figs as HDM? And will this policy prevent me from asking for items to be held back until I can make it up to a store? If so, hug Target and hug Mattel for sending awesome exclusives to such a sh*tty chain.
