Just wondering does anyone know what’s going on with smyths at the moment? the last two elite sets have been missing a figure I don’t know if it’s mattel or smyths fault but the chad gable was missing from elite 59 in stores and Elias probably the most sought after figure in elite 60 isn’t in stores either I’ve messaged smyths multiple times but they just always tell me they will tell the buyers team it’s really frustrating at the minute to be a collector in the uk there’s so many amazing exclusives in the US at the moment an now where not even getting full elite sets and yeah we have wrestingshop but there charging 35 pound for Elias now because it’s hard to get a hold of I love collecting Mattel’s figure but when you ain’t making a fortune it’s hard to collect. Just wondering if anyone in the Uk or outside of the US is having the same problems?

Sadly I can't answer you, but I am in the same boat. Collecting has become very difficult for us in the UK and I have nearly lost all interest. I haven't bought a WWE figure since July, and that was a mint loose Elite Finlay.
Anyway, UK site Kapowtoys has Elite Elias in stock for £18.99 if you need him. The eBay prices are ridiculous for him!

Oh really yeah that’s great nice one 👍 and I can afford the 35 pound but I think to myself why should I be paying nearly double for something that isn’t exactly rare don’t get me wrong shops like b&m and entertainer and home bargins Have started getting elites in I’ve missed out on in the past but I really want most of the exclusives in American stores an I don’t get why u can’t being them over here because it wouldn’t effect the company you have made it an exclusive for because we don’t have those stores here

Thats approx $45 when Amazon US have Elias for $20. But its OK, we now have 17 different versions of New Day.

Smyths tried it with a couple of series of the Hall of Fame figures and it didn't go well.

I do remember them having the hall of fame series but if they didn’t get as much stock in surely they could turn a profit look don’t get me wrong I understand it’s impossible for smyths to be the only distributor for these things but surely mattel can do something to make these more assessable for people out of the US Just be nice to see if they did try it or even worked with wrestling shop to make the American exclusives cheaper on that site I paid 80 pound for the flashback hbk and razor on that site it should of cost me 80 for the complete set an I know people could say don’t spend but I enjoy collecting an I want the best ones that come out like anyone does

Half the issue is, that when we do get exclusives here, some people whine and moan about the price, and the "i'll wait for it to be reduced" brigade are the reason we stop getting exclusives, if people werent so tight and paid the prices we would get more. We saw it with tru network spotlight, then, now, forever basics in asda, and the hall of fame line in Smyths, too many people didnt buy because they were too 'expensive' Support the lines or lose them, thats the way it goes

The current generation of young people loves saving a few quid. You can’t blame them. Money you save on figures is money you can spend on rent, booze and pizza. I get it. Unfortunately, the attitude of ‘eh I’ll wait for the reductions’ or ‘I’ll pick them up when they’re in Home Bargains’ has slowly but surely driven the value of Elites in this country down to next to nothing. Smyths aren’t a not for profit company so if something isn’t making money for them they’ll drop it like a bad habit. First they took your Hall of Fame, then your sixth figure in the Elite series
What was that thing Goldberg used to say?

I could repeat myself endlessly about the amount of the US exclusives but there is really no point.
However there is no excuse for missing figures out of Elite sets. Why would Elias who is a popular wrestler not be included in the UK wave? I'm also not getting my hopes up for Dude Love. I wouldn't be surprised if the UK don't get him either.

I fully understand that the shops have to charge that price because the distribution has gone up but it is a struggle for collectors. If you work full time and have a house to keep and food to buy you cannot simply splash out a load of money on an action figure. I know it's not possible but if Elite figures were £10 and basic's £5 then we wouldn't have this problem at all. It's not a case that we choose to wait for reduction we simply have no choice.

Nobody forces anyone to collect, im not trying to be nasty about it, but if you dont have £20 spare, you shouldnt even consider collecting

I personally don’t mind the £20 for elites if everyone has to pay that then yeah il pay that too it just does my head knowing I’ve gotta pay double the price for some figures because there not being brought over here surely for a company Mattel’s size something could be done

I haven’t bought a single figure from any UK store, there’s nothing here. I buy everything from eBay or RSC and just accept the shipping and taxes.

And I have no idea who decides which figure gets cut - but leaving a popular/first time Elite like Elias out of E60 was shocking... especially when there are already countless Cena and New Day Elites out there (most of which are reduced to £10-£15 too).

Yeah totally forgot about Mickie yeah I don’t understand who picks the one that gets because what a dumb idea it was to have Jason Jordan but no chad gable

My local Smyths is coming down with WWE figures that just won't sell and the price has to be the issue. It's a difficult task for parents too because if their kids want 5 Elite figures that's £100 which looks absolutely like nothing once their out of the package.

I buy mostly loose and wait for relatively new figures to appear loose on eBay so always works out cheaper for me to do that. Smyths near me have never had a figure I want for a price I'm willing to pay lol
