Yea, it isn't September anymore, and today is going to be an interesting day with the Rockies/Padres, so we need a thread to discuss in.
I'm really pulling for the Rockies to win today, and then hopefully they'll beat the Phillies. Ideally, I'd love to see a Cubs/Rockies NLCS, mainly because it would allow me to see one more Cubs game this year.

I hope that the Angels and Red Sox have the night game this Wednesday. I really don't want to see a National League game unless maybe the Padres. I am pulling for the Padres today.

I'm still in the greatest mood ever today since the Phillies made the playoffs.
I think I want the Rockies to win because I really don't want to have to face Peavy and Young. The Rockies are similar to the Phillies in the sense that they are both hitting teams in hitter's ballparks so it'd be a good matchup.

Most people had either Boston/NY from the East and Cleveland/Detroit for the Central and Anaheim from the West and either the loser of the Central being the WC.
So not a huge jump in the AL.

For anyone who didn't know like myself, tonight's game between the Rockies and Padres will be televised on TBS at 7:30 EST.
I didn't know if it was going to be televised until I just saw a commercial for it...

The gagne signature above makes me even question whether or not Boston plans on putting him on the post season roster...

He'll be on the roster, Jonathan Lester will not be

Yeah, I can't see Gagne not being on Boston's postseason roster. As bad as he's been, the trade would look even worse if they took on his salary and dealt prospects just to have him pitch 2 months in the regular season, but leave him off the postseason roster.

His salary was like 2 million dollars, I am pretty sure the Yankees and Sox waste that in a trip to the bathroom, he's just not as bad as he has been, he has the talent and the balls. I would trust him over Lester, Corey, Lopez, Snyder, maybe even Tavarez. Only guys I legit trust in the playoffs would Papelthong, Timlin, Delcarmen and maybe Okajima. Considering Gagne has more talent than EVERYONE in that pen sans Papelbon, I'd give him that benefit

I am just curious as to who Torre is gonna carry... Edwar Ramirez and Jose Veras completely blow... if he brings Ohlendorf, I won't make fun of him for the entire month of October.

Brian Bruney wont be on the roster, because he has no experience...hehe

Brian Bruney wont be on the roster, because he has no experience...hehe I don't really want him on the roster... he needs to learn how to throw a ball over the plate. He started strong this season, but just lost his command. I like his stuff, but I'd rather have a guy like Ohlendorf who puts a 95 mph sinker over the plate.

Ummm Top 15 hitters next year, fantasy wise maybe, for craps and giggles.
1. Alex Rodriguez (Once he makes 30$, he'll still put up NUTS numbers, but not this kinda NUTS) 2. Albert Pujols (He'll be #1 sooner) 3. Jose Reyes (Even though hes a sloucher) 4. Matt Holliday (Oh yah, hes that good) 5. Prince Fielder (I mean he stole 2 Bases the other day!!) 6. David Ortiz (If your league has OPS, OBP, Slugging, then hes a Top 5'er) 7. Jimmy Rollins (Damn that N Word does it all) 8. David Wright (2008 MVP) 9. Hanley Ramirez (Needs to go to CF, but hes a beast-y) 10. Ryan Howard (Yah hes fat, but an MVP) 11. Chase Utley (Yah hes good and play a position no one likes) 12. Vladimir Guerrero (Will be a DH soon, but damn hes sexy) 13. Miguel Cabrera (Yah hes fat) 14. Carl Crawford (Needs to get out of Tampa) 15. Grady Sizemore (One of these years, he needs to take that next step)

Top 15 starters:
1. Jake Peavy (Yah, I said hes better than Johan) 2. Johan Santana (Welcome to the 2008 Dodgers Johan) 3. Josh Beckett (Being on the Red Sox = a ton of wins and support) 4. CC Sabathia (Same thing with Beckett) 5. JJ Putz (Ladies and Gentleman, the best closer in baseball) 6. Brandon Webb (Very good, very little run support at times) 7. Hole Camels (Time for that HUGE next step) 8. Jonathan Papelbon (He runs around naked) 9. Erik Bedard (Even though his team is TERRIBLE) 10. Justin Verlander (2008 Cy Young) 11. Scott Kazmir (Oh yah, hes legal) 12. Doc Halladay (Just wait until he gets hurt) 13. Francisco Rodriguez (Contract year!!!) 14. Roy Oswalt (Bad bad bad team) 15. Fransico Liriano (Oh yah)

So, I don't pay much attention to the D-Backs, but didn't they get Johnson back? I haven't really heard much about The Big Unit lately.
