I don’t understand how someone could be consistently over, like Braun, and squash him at every turn. Last year he loses his first title shot at Summerslam in the fatal 4-way, which was fine because he didn’t take the fall. Then he loses to Brock clean at No Mercy, which was questionable, but everyone saw it coming. Fast-forward a year later, Braun is carrying the MITB and ready to be pushed to the moon. Not only does he look like an idiot at Summerslam, but completely loses his title shot at HIAC. I don’t understand why they put the MITB on him just to kill him once again. Finally, FINALLY! Right when you think that they come to their senses and actually want to take a chance on someone other than Brock and Reigns, at Crown Jewel they just totally flush Braun and all his momentum down the toilet in a glorified squash match. I understand the context that Braun was screwed over by Corbin, but now the stigma is made that Braun can’t get the job done, and you’re forcing the fans to give up on him because you won’t pull the trigger on the guy. Then, when the fans eventually stop reacting to him they’re going to pretend like he’s not over from the start.
And listen to this, I’m not even the biggest Braun fan. But when something gets over in this business, it’s smart business to not squash it and actually run with it. You don’t sacrifice it for a guy who’s going to be out the door in a matter of months for the octogon.

I’ve kinda soured on him as of late. I was behind him 100% as of Summerslam.....but turning him heel then face again all within a month gives it A Big Show kinda feel. Not to mention the way he’s booked when he faces Roman and Brock....just kinda over him right now. I’m all aboard the Drew McIntyre train now

It's really the same thing we've seen for years. Every time a new guy comes onto the scene and builds momentum, Vince sacrifices them and goes back to the same formula he has for years. Strowman's rise and fall is almost identical to what they did with Ryback - he caught fire with the fans, got insanely over and then Vince just lost interest in him and turned him heel for no reason other than the fact that he had no more credible heels left to face Cena. Then, Ryback lost and pretty much never recovered from the endless string of big matches that he lost time and time again. On the rare occasions when the company does create legitimate stars who the fans get behind, Vince still can't get out of this own way. If Braun eventually wins the title, it'll be because Vince determined the timing was right; not because the fans did. The fact that Daniel Cormier actually mentioned the WWE and Brock in his post-fight interview gave Vince exactly what he wanted, and pretty much ensures that Brock is keeping the title until Mania.

Braun should have became champ when he was demolishing Roman all over the arena. They should have gave him the belt, let him keep issuing open challenges and destroying everyone. Roman failed a few times then got the help of the shield to finally beat him. Woulda got everyone over,Roman look good and Braun woulda stayed looking strong.

Hard to disagree there. It's absolutely a shame that Roman's cancer returned, but this would have been a good time to turn the page and roll with Braun and see what happens, but instead, Vince chickened out and went back to Brock.
I think Joe is also dancing back and forth on that point of no return line since he's a destroyer...but can't win the big ones.

He's been damaged but things could improve, I mean they built Bayley back up quite a bit after the Alexa feud.

I firmly believe it all started when they gave him his catchphrase, imo in order to curb his vicious beast persona and because he made that organic connection.I'm surprised he hasn't been reduced to a straight up comedy act by now.

Per Meltzer today, Braun is apparently working with two blown knees. Could be the reason they decided to go with Brock again.
But yeah, they should've pulled the trigger on him long before this. Oh well. WWE is gonna WWE.

Nobody wants Brock as champion and Braun is over as hell so now would've been the best time to pull the trigger.

If they tell the fans to cheer Braun in a month the fans will. No such thing as damaged beyond repair.

Braun is apparently injured, so I'm sure WWE doesn't want to be all in on Braun knowing he's working hurt and may need surgery.

People thought they buried Bray so deep he’d never get out of the hole yet the night he won the WWE title the pop was so loud you would’ve thought Austin’s music hit in an arena in 1998.

Yeah, he lost to Lesnar two times. A guy who Roman lost to multiple times as well and everyone else who faced him.
Braun is still the most over person on the Raw roster so you’re automatically wrong lol
When the crowd doesn’t care about him, that’s when he’s damaged beyond repair.

I pointed out at MitB that Braun had been booked horribly with the start/stop push and getting beat consistently by Roman and Brock at every chance. Getting pinned clean by Finn Balor just before MitB didn't make him look like a threat to Brock. His infatuation with KO didn't make him look like he wanted to be the man. His meaningless tag team title match didn't make it seem like they wanted him near the Universal title. And everyone here mocked my opinion. A few months later and now you all seem to see it. Welcome to the ing party. Pay attention a little better next time.

I'm not a fan of Strowman, but this was the absolute best opportunity to give him the main event title position with Reigns out indefinitely.
