According to Big Dave (Meltzer). With the start of AEW, WWE is trying to sign all the talent they can to prevent competition. High on that list is current IWGP Heavyweight Champ Kenny Omega. WWE apparently offered him a multimillion dollar deal. It’s going to be interesting to see where he ends up as his current contract with NJPW expires at the end of this month.

one would think his allegiance will be with AEW. who knows if this is real or not, but AEW is already shaking up 2019 more than anything in immediate history.

I really hope Omega stays with NJPW if this is true. That is all. I could see why Omega would go to WWE, or god forbid AEW, but Id rather see him stay in NJPW.

I don’t believe one bit the reported offer from WWE, but I’m sure the offer is very good regardless.
There’s now a new report on the internets stating that Omega will not be staying with NJPW. And possibly taking a meeting with WWE.

Would they be able to get him in time for the Royal Rumble?
That would be one hell of an impact having a guy that most of the audience does not know come in and win the damn thing.

Just got an inside scoop on the actual deal WWE offered him... Boy oh boy is it huge, forget being loyal to Japan and all, Omega would be stupid not to take it. "Hey kid, here's 50 bucks and a Cheeseburger, get out there and make a name for yourself"

Vince can't be so stupid that he wouldn't see the benefits in signing one of the best wrestlers in the world who gained that recognition without any help from the WWE machine. He's seen lightning strike once in the WWE success of AJ Styles and I'd bet he would love to see it happen again with a younger version of AJ who just happens to be miles better on the mic. I'd hope that Triple H is the little birdie whispering into his ear as well: "We need Kenny Omega..."

I hope he doesn't sign. While it would be cool to see Omega in WWE, the wrestling business is better with competition.

If he just cares about the big payday, he'll go.
If he values his creative freedom and wants any chance of making a real difference in the current wrestling climate, he'll stay in NJPW or join AEW.

People were worried how AJ Styles was going to be used in the WWE but that seem to work out just fine. However I don't think the WWE will like Omegas attitude. Not saying it's bad but I don't think he'd be a quiet "do what they tell you guy" backstage.

Omega has been rumored to be offered a contract seemingly every year. AEW has nothing to do with this lol

At 35 years old, it might be worth taking the big money deal. Sign for 3 and reevaluate later.
And with Fox wanting SD to more athletic based, Omega (along with AJ & Bryan) could be perfect as the top guy. So it's only logical they'd be after such a big name.

I love that Dave is such a homer for The Elite that he thinks AEW will actually be competition to WWE.

I think he's gonna go to WWE. He's even mentioned before that it'll be a missed opportunity to not go work with guys like Seth. If he signs, that's huge

If he just cares about the big payday, he'll go. Assuming the offer is genuine and the best offer he has. It could quite plausibly - whether real or not - have been 'leaked' by Omega to get a better deal out of AEW or whoever couldn't it? I assume that's how these things work.

I'd like to see someone actually stick to their guns when they say they don't need WWE. I couldn't stand certain WWE viewers trashing him as another boring, small, vanilla stunt monkey. Stay in New Japan, maybe work out a deal to do some time with All Elite, and continue to put on amazing matches with talent on similar levels. And leave a possible WWE storyline off the table for them, letting it stay exclusively in my mind.
But it's his decision, let him do what he wants. Plus, we could at least get a proper Kenny O from Mattel.

And let’s face it; XFL is coming soon. Vince doesn’t have enough hours in a day or assistants to help him run football and wrestling 100%. Someone else is going to have to start running with the ball as far as WWE goes. And, if AJ’s career begins to wind down a bit starting now, Kenny is the perfect replacement.

BINGO if the WWE is offering Omega main event level money and the spot to go along with it he should jump at the chance to sign with WWE.He's basically done everything he can in NJPW and AEW is still just a start up promotion and will take a few years to become a serious threat if ever to the WWE.Sign with the WWE for 3 or 4 years(basically like Styles,Nakamura,Anderson & Gallows did) and get payed extremely well while also becoming a global start. Then after his deal is up and AEW is still around and a booming company jump on over and help his buddies out and now he would be a much bigger deal and possibly depending on how his WWE run goes could be a former Wrestlemania main eventer and WWE Or Universal Champion jumping ship.

At this point in his career, I’d take the money as well. It’s not like he’s 25-30 where he has all the time in the world. I don’t think Omega is going to ever be hotter than he is right now. If he ever wondered if he can make it big in WWE, how’s the time to capitalize. I think it was a huge sign that he might be going elsewhere after dropping the IWGP Title to Tanahashi.

Not knocking NJPW or anything it's ing amazing..but what product has everyone grew up on? who have they seen all these years? where do you get the most exposure you can possibly get? WWE is the answer. Everyone is in the business to get into WWE even if it's for a short run or not.
