I've been pretty surprised with mattel's choices for retro figures. We've seen some amazing choices and with Goldust in the most recent series, it really made me wonder who else we are going to see.
Let's hear some REALISTIC predictions.
Classic Bam Bam Vader Bret Bulldog
Cesaro Usos Rey Lashley Rusev Truth

Hopefully we get Vader so HBK has a figure he can kick in the head.
Mabel, Bobby the Brain, USA Lex, 96-98 HBK and Jerry Lawler are all guys I believe we can get that I would love.
Adam Cole, Ziggler and Curt Hawkins are my biggest current roster wants.

There's probably been a dozen of these topics already, but just to state the obvious, I want legends, focus on Hasbro era and a bit before and after, and then wcw.
Not buying anything past attitude era, except Ryder out of respect for what he's doing for the hobby, and I would buy Hawkins if they made him.

It's one of those situations where I just cant not talk about it. This is the best series in my opinion and I need to know what else I'm gonna see. I'd kill to see Bret on a peg again..

I approached the news of the Retro line as "Voting with my dollars" for the product as a whole. That's why I bought all but the Ultimate Warrior of the first line. It stood to reason in my mind that voting for the product at large would increase the chances or more classic wrestlers being made. It's the same reason I bought so many Classic Superstars figures as a kid when JAKKS had the license. I love old school wrestling and wanted more of them made. Since you're someone who was able to collect the original Habso line, I completely get where you're coming from. Hope you're having a good day.

I love the idea of a Retro Hollywood Hogan if only to see people’s reactions when a Retro comes out before an Elite

This is definitely a much discussed topic and I always see a lot of people predicting or wishing for wrestlers that Hasbro already made. I love Bret and he’s one of my all time favorites but I’d personally rather have a mid card wrestler like Haku than another Bret since I already have 3 Bret’s in my Hasbro collection. Flair was one of the few wrestlers I was ok with them remaking since the original was so poor.

I posted a couple of series ideas in a suggestions thread based on what I think would be realistic - basically a 50/50 split between current guys and legends, and recognising the need to add fresh guys and big names to spike sales rather than just guys I'd want released:
Series 11
The Miz Rusev Jerry Lawler (red and black ring gear) Lex Luger (USA attire)
Series 12
Rey Mysterio Dolph Ziggler Eddie Guerrero (Latino Heat) Mr McMahon
After Diesel is released I think the next major missing "want" (in light of the situation with Owen) will be face Lex Luger, so I expect we'll see him maybe next year if the series continues beyond the current schedule.
But I actually think that the next big move in the Retro line will be the addition of females - obviously they were missing from the Hasbros, so I think Mattel will see value in exploring this new territory, and make the investment (which will be quite big initially I'd think) to create at least 8 female Retro bodies. I'd go for the following female-only releases to get that range going (using the same criteria as above):
Series 13/Females Series 1
Ronda Rousey Becky Lynch Sensational Sherri (Queen Sherri probably, though Million Dollar Man or HBK era manager would be equally awesome) Trish Stratus
Series 14/Females Series 2
Alexa Bliss Charlotte Miss Elizabeth Lita
Get those eight released, and then I think they can create mixed-gender series going forward from there.

I’d definitely get all three of those; I had Alundra in mind drawing-up those two series before going for the symmetry of the two golden era managers that I missed as a kid and the two biggest stars of the Attitude Era. If they followed those up with a third females series then I’d expect Alundra to be in that one; preferably with the Women’s title. It’s unfortunate that Sunny’s such a mess that we can’t get figures of her, but Luna is someone I’m always disappointed doesn’t get more love from WWE - I guess that might’ve been different if she was still alive, but just from her WWE time with HBK and Bam Bam, and going into her time with Goldust during the Attitude Era, Luna really should have more recognition IMHO.

Regardless of who they make, I'd be happy if a new series just came out every 2-3 months.

With the news being reported that Jeff Jarrett has joined WWE as a producer, maybe we can start dreaming about that Double J Retro? Imagine if a year from now we had Diesel, Luger, Mabel and Jarrett in Retro form

Getting close to a year now since that, so maybe soon we could see him announced for at least one of the lines.

Yeah I was one of those excited by the HoF induction, but obviously nothing figure-related came from that. Hopefully now that he is actually under contract as a producer then the road to merchandise will be more straightforward.

Yeah, but even if it would have come from the HoF deal, doesn't it take close to a year to get a figure designed and ready?

Yeah, but even if it would have come from the HoF deal, doesn't it take close to a year to get a figure designed and ready? I think that’s right, but someone who follows the main lines might be better placed to answer that - I know Rousey was out quicker than that but I think she was rushed through due to her profile; I’d guess a year would be a likely timeframe. The Shawn Retro prototype appeared in that photo on the shelf certainly long before the release was confirmed, so who knows who they are working on now after the guys that have been heavily rumoured. My previous post about getting those orange card guys within the year obviously was in jest, but the powers that be clearly know the demand on those guys since they teased us with Diesel all that time ago - once Jarrett is cleared for Mattel to work on (IF he does) then once he appears in the main lines then I’d expect his Retro to follow pretty swiftly
