Even if he does go to AEW why does everyone assume he's gonna wrestle he could be working backstage in any number of roles.

He’s under WWE contract. He’s not working for the money mark boys club.

Starcast has nothing to do with AEW other than it being on the weekend of Double or Nothing. 53 year old Taker ain’t going nowhere.

AEW paying a lot of money for Undertakers makes them no different than WCW. AEW doesn't need Undertaker and Undertaker doesn't need AEW.

If this thread isn’t a joke then it’s a perfect example of why I already can’t stand AEW. There’s a guy in a wrestling group on Facebook that was whooping it up about how Undertaker was going to “Be Elite” and how Vince was pissing his pants because he just lost Taker to AEW, Dude was so obnoxious about it.

If he’s taking steps towards AEW it’s gonna be awhile before he gets there.
I’m honestly disappointed in you guys for not making a joke about his slow ass entrance sooner

Y'know, whether the Undertaker is helping out in some capacity at the AEW or not is kind of beside the point. The fact that the AEW is creating enough of a stir that threads like this even come up is encouraging. I'm seeing a lot of posts by folks who are not happy with the direction the WWE has taken today. Folks calling a lot of the current matches unwatchable, formulaic, boring, etc. Well, even if the AEW doesn't manage more than a blip on the radar, how can it be a bad thing if they force the WWE to sit up and do something about their current presentation? It sounds like the WWE has become a top heavy slug of an organization that is coasting on momentum from its glory days. I hope AEW does manage to stretch the WWE out a little, then they'll have no choice but to innovate again. Competition is good, even for sports entertainment.

In theory, it's fun, but WWE has no need or desire to innovate. The company is making vastly more money than it ever has. These are the glory days. The only thing they have incentive to do if AEW takes off is get litigious and lock down talent to longer deals to maintain the status quo. Mark Calaway hobbling down an AEW ramp to talk about how he doesn't need a gimmick anymore and is sick of being held down by the young guys isn't going to bring about some creative boom period in WWE. Plus, he's likely just doing a few high-priced independent meet and greet sessions anyway rather than signing with another wrestling organisation. At most, that maybe drives his Axxess signings value down slightly.

If I’m trying to watch a video about WWE, I don’t want to hear why AEW is so much better.

I'm starting to get into that boat of I was really excited about AEW at first but the fans online are ruining it for me because people are acting like AEW is already #1, stole all of WWE's stars and put Vince out of business. Like, I REALLY want to like AEW and I really want it to do well and be another option for good wrestling....but there are some fans that are just so ing obnoxious about it already that it's really turning me off.

I'm in that boat. Starrcast has literally nothing to do with AEW. It's a convention, and lo and behold, Taker has done conventions before. This all started because some idiot decided to tweet that this was Undertaker's first non-WWE appearance (it's not),and said he'd be appearing at AEW's Starrcast (Much like how Wrestlecon isn't a WWE event that happens at Wrestlemania, Starrcast is not an AEW event).

People on Twitter are assuming that this means Sting vs. Taker is happening at Double or Nothing. At least Dave Meltzer had the decency to say that there is a 0% chance of that happening (although I am sure he's probably inserted somewhere that it's always subject to change)

Seems like McCool could actually be the AEW target. There aren't a ton of veteran women out there who could bring that Jericho-like level of veteran credibility to that women's division. Mickie is signed to WWE and Gail made TNA her home. So maybe McCool is interested in returning to the ring for a 3 year run on a lighter schedule than what WWE can offer. Doesn't seem that far fetched to me.
But yeah, Taker is just doing the autograph tour. Just another sprinkle of that Condrad dust. I think it's really cool Taker is doing this for fans. He's largely been pretty inaccessible over the years and I'm sure there are tons of fans who want to meet him. I love when guys of his caliber are willing to do the "Thank you" tour with fans, even if it is for obscene amounts of money.

I want them all at the table making money and then out there offering us up something when we are hungry for it. But I swear the AEW Marks (and not the good fans, you know what I mean when I say “Mark”) talking about how they are “So much better” when they HAVEN’T EVEN HELD THEIR FIRST SHOW YET baffle me! Also, the marks that are rooting for one or the other company to fail is ridiculous. I want to see companies coexisting without mud slinging) I hope initial promos from AEW when they are on TV isn’t them shooting on WWE and running them down. It’s bush league bulls#!+ and it is counter productive.

But lately everything goes back to AEW. In a RAW recap they had to have mentioned AEW twenty times, at least. "This guy is jumping, this guy would be used so much better, they just lost Ambrose & Itami to AEW" I can't take it anymore.

Nobody ever thought Hogan would leave WWF and he did. Nobody ever thought Flair would have left NWA/WCW but he did. Money talks. I can see AEW offering Saudi type money to Taker. Loyalty? Yeah, I don't think so. Money beats loyalty every time. Integrity? Taker already has all the respect in the world so if he were to take another deal somewhere else, it wouldn't tarnish him a bit. And who cares about a Hall of Fame induction? I'd rather have that mega money.
With all that being said....yeah, Taker isn't going anywhere. He's too beat up and too old to do anything.
