If this happened to any other team, people would be rioting... But because it was the Patriots, people just disregard the blatantly horrible officiating in the biggest game of the year.
No, no one can or will take the game away from the Giants, as they thoroughly manhandled the Patriots at the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball; but it IS okay to admit that there were numerous god awful calls in that game.

I thought you were a Vikings fan...... Yes, and as a New Englander(?), I am a Patriots fan too.

And people always say the Patriots got cheated by the referees, week after week. "Oh, they're undefeated, so the other team and the refs must be in on it together." Bullcrap. Their being undefeated only magnified the poor calls. I am sure the Giants got snubbed on certain calls, too. Truth is, Brady couldn't even complete a pass on that final drive anyway, so who's to say a few extra ticks on the clock would've made much of a difference?

ing ****...pats suck. end of story. When was the last time your team went 18-1? You can go 18-1 year after year, but unless that one loss is in the regular season, you aren't crap. The Bears went 18-1, but they won the Super Bowl... by crushing the Patriots.

I'm not saying that the referees conspired to rip the Patriots off. I'm just saying that there were some terrible calls that went the Giants' way. I take nothing away from the Giants - they won the game fair and square, in my opinion.

Seriously? A few extra clicks probably would have helped, but regardless, it wasnt Bradys fault on the last drive.

The Patriots can bitch all they want, but in the end, this was there worst game yet, The Giants simply outplayed them, if Bill Bellicheck cant take that face then ohhh well, it's the NFL, deal with it..

This has NOTHING to do with the Patriots or Belichick, he or the team have nothing to do with this.

Correction, people were happy to blow off the "Pass Interference" Call on Kelly Jennings during the 02 Fiesta Bowl....OSU should have never won that game

If I recall correctly, the clock was incorrect all night. I believe it kept running on a play where a Giants player got out of bounds. Not sure of the circumstances, but I know the clock ed up at another point in the game.

You'd think they'd have someone who knew what was going on in charge of the clock for the biggest football game of the year. ... Just sayin'.

One thing that is missing from the NFL rules on that petition is the Head referee when making a measurement, either visual or with the chain, is allowed to stop the clock. In that play (the link posted) after the fourth and 1, the ref and the side judges are looking towards the sideline making a visual measurement, therefore they are allowed to stop the clock.
and that fumble? agreed from the one angle it appeared that the pats recovered, if you saw the replay (where the announcers said they thought that the pats recovered), you can clearly see he never had possession of the ball and the giants did recover
One final thing, THE TV CLOCK IS NOT THE OFFICIAL CLOCK. Unless theres a video where we can see the IN STADIUM CLOCK and the plays on the field, then its over Pats fan. Stop being mass-holes and accept that your team blew it in the only game that mattered this season.
Hell even Bill Simmons didn't bring up the clock issue, wanna know why? because he was there in the stadium and actually knows and understands the NFL rules.

Sorry, I had to find the rules.
OFFICIAL PLAYING RULES OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE Rule 4, Section 3,
Article 7 Play may be suspended by Referee (Referee’s Time Out) at any time without penalty to either team when playing time is being destroyed because of delay not intentionally caused by either team, provided it does not violate some specific rule. SUPPLEMENTAL NOTES The following situations are automatic Referee’s time outs: (1) Where there is a change of possession. The game clock will start on the snap. (2) ANY POSSIBLITIY OF A MEASUREMENT FOR FIRST DOWN OR IN CONSULTING THE CAPTAIN ABOUT ONE. ( 3) Any time the player who originally takes the snap is tackled behind the line of scrimmage.Prior to the two-minute warning, the Referee will restart the clock after the ball has been properly spotted.
Please note section 2
