The Walmart’s here have started to put cameras above certain sections of the toys. Like right above the top row. So you can see if someone is messing with the packaging. They’ve been doing that for the toy aisle at the Walmart in Hurst, Tx off Pipeline as well.

If this does happen to all WalMarts we have nobody to blame except for the people who come in a steal the title belts and or cloth shirts from all the figures. The Airmont NY WalMart is like that. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up behind a case at that store. And honesty if this stops it from happening then I’m all for it. It is rolling out to most stores I believe. My Walmart is like that now, too. Well that's just ing great. I guess I am not going to buy any figures there ever again.... Let’s be honest... YOU weren’t buying figures at WalMart anyway. You are one of the ones always saying that your stores have nothing new ever. 😁

I am just curious if walmart orders full endcap displays of wwe figures in the future are they gonna be locked up as well ?? That's going to be ing pathetic to see. I see this as a future scenario. A kid sees wwe figures locked up in a glass case and does not even bother asking even though he sees a figure he/she might want to buy, because surprise no one is around to unlock the glass case. Instead he or she downloads another app on his tablet when they get home. But maybe there is a silver lining in this. If sales flatline at wallyworlds, discount stores should get more product in.

Just went to my Walmart out of curiosity and the same old setup so far. No lock and key for any of the action figure section. I guess that could be a compliment to my area that they trust us lol.

Walmart is probably a crap hole, that’s the only reason.
This won’t become normal

Walmart is probably a crap hole, that’s the only reason. This won’t become normal Yeah but what other stores can you dependably find figures at (which is basically none). If Walmart prevents theft, the thrives will just steal more from Target. And the thieves will go to the other Walmarts that don't have the locks. I've talked to Walmart employees who've said they've heard the thefts say that exact thing. So it's a matter of time before Target does the same thing.

Maybe if they had employees that don’t run and hide when they see customers and actually walk the aisles, thefts could be deterred. Starting to hate Walmart

Starting to hate Walmart It's that or even if you are hired and assigned to the toy department, managers will pull you from there to literally do anything from unloading the freight to manning a register. My local 2 wallyworlds have not yet locked up the wwe toys. But they just had inventory so i could see them waiting until thats over.

They require minimal (read: no) product expertise to work in any open floor department. Anything that they expect you to have passive knowledge on is briefly touched upon during the onboarding CBL process. Beyond that, floor employees exist to stock, sort, and direct.

I think people are incorrectly assuming that this is WWE-specific.
It looks like they took the entire action figure isle and put it under lock and key. I see Transformers, Star Wars, some plush toys that are almost certainly NOT high theft targets.
There's a good chance that they will end up losing far more sales having the isle locked up with Walmart's typical terrible-at-best customer service than whatever loss they are attempting to avoid. But that seems to be the corporate "fix a hangnail with a hatchet" mentality these days.

Bottom line is this just stupid.
Mattel needs to make the packaging on elites much more difficult to break open to steal.
Walmart needs to update there policy on shoplifting and actually reward there employees for catching and stopping theives.
Every time you see on the news a dedicated walmart employee stops a thief, they get fired the next day.
Only if said fired person goes viral for doing the right thing does walmart rehire that person.
That's why people steal like crazy at walmart stores.

All retail store security is instructed to let shoplifters go freely. Too much liability in having someone tackle and restrain someone.
