I saw photos of it years ago and it never came out. Do we know why the Gobbley Gooker never got produced

It would've been an expensive figure to make and there wasn't enough interest in it to release it

Bill wanted a Gobbledy Gooker so he made one to show at SDCC to “gauge interest.” It was a hit and everyone wanted it and asked when it was going to be made. Bill wanted to be the only one to have a figure of everyone’s favorite costumed turkey so he starts spreading false stories about the reception being lukewarm. This resulted in Mattel canceling plans of going all in with Gooker and giving him the Cena/Mysterio (at that time) treatment. Now Hector Guerrero’s only action figure is sitting on Bill’s shelf next to Wendi Richter’s only figure.

It was always meant to be a one-off, no plans for release because Mattel didn't believe sales would warrant the manufacturing of specialty molds for it.
I'm sure they never would have even shown it in public if they knew the butthurt a guy in a f*cking turkey costume would generate...

It was never something meant to be coming out. It was made as a display piece along with the 12” Beth Phoenix with rooted hair and the Orton RKOing Punk Statue for their trade show/con booths.

When they showed pre production pics the response wasn’t what they expected. It was later scrapped. It wasn’t scrapped. It was never slated for any production outside of the 1 made for their display presentation. |

If they made and released the bunny, I don't see why they can't do Gooker...Throw him in a 2-pack with a debut Undertaker. I’ve seen a lot of people on here say that. I agree, I’d rather have had Gooker than that stupid Bunny that warmed everywhere! Yeah make a random Bunny packed with a mid carder, that made sense lol. I’d LOVE a Gooker, maybe it would sell well if they did a BAF with some good figures. I for one do not like OOAK figure, especially when they are show with regular figures. The OOAK Superstar dolls really got on my nerves. They know some people are gonna want them, why tease? |
