"don't like it don't buy it"
Pretty sure most people didn't and that's part of the complaint that it helped contribute to clogged shelves and some stores not getting any of NXT 4.

I had the same vitriol towards E32 garbageman Daniel Bryan, but Mattel did have the decency to do that pegwarmer recall a couple of years back.

Exactly what Chip said. I love it how people here say "Its not a bad figure, it's just nobody wanted it". Meanwhile this figure is still on the pegs at I can only guess quite a few target stores right now 2 years after it came out ?? If nobody wants something and it does not sell I am pretty sure that is really bad in the retail world. The reason you had select stores restocking series 4 a dozen times is because you had 2-3 other stores clogged with shower Rusev. This figure absolutely killed the nxt line. The figure did not kill the line. You always come posting these ridiculous theories and swear by them. Target no longer wanted that line and requested something different.

Hard to argue it killed the line when it had another series after it that didn't get stocked. I say Elite series 8 Edge is a worse figure. It's all ultimately opinion.

Mattel makes me scratch my head everyday. They continue to be in business despite themselves. How can a company with the largest toy line in the world keep striking out with lines? It’s insane how bad the batting average is lately. Tito was a great figure. Bath time Rusev not so much. Target sucked to over order this series and short order the figures people actually wanted. Network SpotlightSurvivor Series EliteFlashback Then Now Forever Hall of Fame Hall of Champions Entrance Greats Defining Moments Legends NXT Epic Moments Walgreens Womens Retrofest BOLD=Active2 for 13. Yikes! You forgot Retros 😡

No shower Rusev is not the reason the line is dead. Its just the only figure left and probably thousands of them rotting on the pegs in stores just like my local one here: flic.kr/p/2gHqXTbIt's been that way minus the clearance tag for easily over a year. It's great that series 4 sold out so well and so fast where it was actually stocked. There are 1800 target stores in North America. If a third of those those have 3-4 nxt rusev's rotting then that is thousands of unsold figures. That's all a guess but I think that's a fair educated guess. Retailers don't like dead inventory, so mattel should have recalled it. That would have saved the line in my opinion.

Yikes! I wouldn't look too far into this though. EG, DM, and EM were actually separate lines with gimmicks, but most of those are, at best, subsets of the Elite line. Some were either designed to only run for a year or so, and some were made with the intent of getting more figures to retail that wouldn't take up a spot in the Elite waves. Look at the figures that were featured in most of these waves: women, legends, fan requested attires, etc.

Rusevs taking up shelf space didn't allow for reorders to kick in on new stock. Only one of 3 targets by me actually got any series 4 in.

I have 4 targets within an hour of me including my local one. None of those 4 got series 4. So if it's 1 in 3 or 1 in 4 got series 4 that is really bad for an exclusive line.

Yikes! The wwe line is also not like other toy lines. Not many toy lines have this many off sets Each of these sets is probably not meant to be long lasting, as they’re just stand offs of the standard series. Also, retail giants like to change things up every so often. So they like to change up exclusives.

Worst figure ever? There are still 1990’s Jackie and bone crushing Dr Death in old defunct Toys r Us buildings because the close out buyers didn’t even want those!

Every wave has a total shelfwarmer in it. It's the law or something.

I'm going to play devil's advocate and say I like this figure. It's unique and like Tito, they were overproduced and clogged shelves, giving them a rotten rep. It's not an entirely fair statement to make TBH if the figure is objectively good/decent.

"don't like it don't buy it" Pretty sure most people didn't and that's part of the complaint that it helped contribute to clogged shelves and some stores not getting any of NXT 4. One of my local Targets has two of each: series 2 Asuka, series 3 Roode, Roman and Rusev. I’m my opinion, Series 4 was almost too hot to release lol. Three ‘First Time In The Line’ figures and one that hasn’t been made in years. It was too good. IMO the entire four series had a lot of shelf cloggers. It just so happened that Rusev was the worst of the sets lol.

So he wasn't solely responsible for anything but it seems like he made the situation a whole lot worse.

False. On almost every account.
Tito clogged shelves for 3 years. Many never found HoF 3 or 4 because of that guy.

Here is a real question, why is it that target stores already marked down the captain marvel figure leftovers to 1/2 off there original price after not even 6 months.
Yet it takes 2 or 3 years for an exclusive wwe figure line to get marked down and only when the line is dead.
