Do you guys really think a full case would help? People would just buy the full case to flip. Haha Their secondary market value would be lower because there’d be more of them. Sure, a scalper could still come in and buy them all, but if every Comic Book Guy in the nation has 4-5 of them on eBay, they’re gonna get a crappy return on them and still easier to obtain

I don't really care one way or the other when it comes to chase figures. As I Hate My Job pointed out, Walmart and Target want these, so they're going to get them. What I want is distribution to smooth out in general. Not finding a particular figure never crossed my mind before this year. There were literally ZERO figures I had not seen at retail at least once dating all the way back to that first Elite series. But now? I never saw anything from E67, nor have I seen Sherri, Liv, Sonya, or Ricochet, so the list of figures I've not seen at retail is growing rather quickly. Having to buy E67 Rey from Amazon put me on notice. And now, my area got a ton of cases of E68 in while those few places that got 69 have seem them fly off the shelves. I see almost everyone except for Pat and Mabel everywhere, and I'm waiting for that series to mingle with the Miz and Lashley from 69 which seem to be the least popular here and create a backlog which is going to hinder future waves again. I havent seen E69 in my area yet, but I am surprised that Bobby Lashley is shelfwarming. I was just in London and he was the hardest one to find in that series over there. Its his first ever Mattel figure, a lot of people have wanted a figure of him since he was in TNA and he has a great look for a toy.

They need to be like the funko exclusives. They're always at the stores and wweshop. I can bet Target and Wal-Mart could give a f. They might actually appreciate the stopping of grown men (me included) bugging employees to check their back rooms.

Us on the east coast can literally never find at least half of the funko pop exclusives

Stop bitching,
It’s either this or you don’t get the figures at all.

Theyre not going to. Walmart and Target are Mattel's 2 biggest customers now that Toys R Us is gone, and if they want exclusives, Mattel has to give it to them. Its a business. If Mattel said no, do you think they would stop ordering? Bill pretty much confirmed that already happened in one of the Q&A’s he did. He said that when they had store Exclusive sets (HOF/HOC/FB) the Target and Walmart buyers were just ordering their exclusive sets and not the core Elite line.

Stop bitching, It’s either this or you don’t get the figures at all. Sounds like you're in an area that's always stocked and you have a complete set and never have to worry about anything. I wouldn't bitch either if distribution was clean in my area either. But you know what? It's not only affecting me, it's affecting a lot of people on the forums. Distribution has always sucked, so now they made it a harder kick in the balls by adding store exclusives to stores that are even worse.

From a business stand point, I understand what they're doing. By putting an exclusive in like this, it brings people in to the stores, which in turn has the possibility of that said person to buy other things besides what they originally only wanted. From a collector stand point in an area that's been atrocious with distribution, it blows. But I should count my blessings that every once in a while my wife and I travel to Ohio or Virginia and I was able to scoop Chase figures that way.

If something is exclusive to Walmart or Target you should have no trouble finding it at that store when it comes out. You should be able to walk in and find it sitting on the shelf. Instead they only get one case at a time instead of loading the shelves with each series like they used to. If they continue doing it that way they should just get cases of the exclusive. Another idea would be to make AJ Styles, Seth Rollins, or Roman Reigns the exclusives since the stores always need them in stock and make Monsoon, Blassie, etc part of the regular set. Kmart & Toys R Us always had no trouble keeping their exclusives in stock. This times 1,000!!! Take the Marvel Legends as an example, the Target exclusives usually come on there own and in rather large numbers. They usually sell well but I always at least get the chance to see them in the store. I don't see entire series of WWE Elite waves much less an exclusive. Exclusives are not chase figures they should be somewhat readily available not 1 per store or less. If Liv, Sonya, Patterson, Dunne, etc. were "chase" figures then I can understand the scarcity, those standards should not apply to exclusives. I don’t think you guys understand why they are shipped the way they are and why stores are getting less figures now. The figures in question are store exclusive and packed very lightly, because they are usually figures that wouldn’t sell well and would rot on pegs. Sending more than the amount they do now, would just cause them to sit and you would all bitch. Stores get less of a series now, due to specific figures from each line not selling and the store getting back up, which leads to them not ordering the new cases. If they were still getting six cases of each figure, stores would be stuck on one series for 5 months and you guys would continue to bitch. These figure aren’t necessarily meant to be super easy to find. They want you out there hunting, because that will possibly lead you to buying things you normally wouldn’t on the first trip. These companies know what they are doing and mattel has finally got shipping and a great system to get us more obscure or just stars that wouldnt sell and at the same time, please the stores.

I think this is the main problem overall. There are always figs in a set that aren't going to move near as much as others. This is why all the AJs are warming pegs at Targets all over the country. If these stores could just keep watch on what's sitting at a particular store for long and be able to clearance that stuff, it would help greatly. I mean hell, there's still Retro S3 at some stores yet, and they were released TWO YEARS ago. And then you've got Walmart that does clearance stuff, but it's only about twice a year when they do a reset, and then they just leave the pegs completely empty for 6 weeks straight until they feel like resetting it.

Not really, my closest target and Walmart really never stock anything and still have old stuff on the shelf. I usually drive 45 min out of my area to even get a chance of finding anything.

What people can’t grasp is that these exclusives for the most part are figures Mattel considers too niche and wouldn’t get made otherwise unless they get a limited production run. You want the exclusives to end? Fine. But Freddie Blassie, Kassius Ohno, Gorilla Monsoon, etc aren’t showing up in the main line. They just go away.

These store exclusives issues are just exacerbated by the existing store/retail distribution issue. I buy most of the normal line elite figures online now because some website will have them in stock at or near retail usually prior to any of my local retail stores - and sometimes my local stores skip an entire series wave altogether. But when there is a figure only available physically in the store (because some of these don't end up on the retailer's website), it makes it a pain for many collectors who would otherwise be willing to buy the exclusive figure from that retailer. And that is where Mattel and the stores are potentially missing out on some money (which they may not care about from a macro level).

I have too many people to compete with in CT (other members here, the dozen scalper shops in the area) to be able to find them all. I've gotten a Sherri and passed on Pat, but that's all I've seen in the wild. It's led me to take a step back from collecting lately, because it just isn't fun for me anymore.
I've been to maybe one Walmart in the last month and that was to buy cat litter. Checked the toys and lo and behold, same old basics and Braun cars they've had for months. I'm over it all. The chase figures are a nice idea in theory, but the execution has been rotten.
If I find it, I find it. If not, oh well. Not gonna pay scalper prices for a plastic toy anymore. Happy hunting to those that are still in it.

It could be he's just not very popular in my area, but every store that I've been to that has had leftovers from E69 cases (I still haven't found a full freshly put out case yet), he's been left behind. He and Miz are the worst here, followed by Ciampa. I still haven't seen Ricochet once yet.
