If there were a way to get our standard elites to play a theme by connecting with a playset without the need for a music box or messing with articulation then sure I'd be all over it.

Nope. I hated TTL. I actually stopped collecting after the BCAs were done after buying a TTL or 2 out of curiosity. Didn't come back until RAs. I felt the same way (didn't come back until the Mattel line in 2014), but the terrible bodies and over-expressive head scans were really my biggest issue. The idea is cool, but I think the concept is a little outdated now that we can pull entrance music/videos up on smart phones at any time. I'd still be interested in seeing a Mattel entrance stage that allowed for a phone/tablet to be mounted, but it's been a while since we've heard anything other than "we're trying to figure out how to make it for retail." Mattel made a stage with a slot for a tablet like four or five years ago. It’s still available on Ringside, possibly.

When they added the app to the Retros, it wound up raising the price of the figures. I'd have to wager that the same would happen if they did something akin to TTL with the basic or elite line as well.

As much as I love TTL, I'm not sure if I would support the line... If I did I'd keep them MOC. It would be cool if today's packaging would promote other figures from different series like the old days though.
