So as we all know. Edge returned at the Rumble, and it is clear that he is going to be working a programme with Orton up to WrestleMania.
The elephant in the room is, is he staying beyond WrestleMania or not?

After 9 years, however much Edge we get is more than we EVER thought we would get. This is a very unexpected and very welcome bonus. I'm happy with whatever he does, and I'd actually rather he take it easier than not, because I just don't want to see anything happen to him.

I don't think Edge's future past WrestleMania is so much an elephant in the room as it is simply up for speculation.

It's like he said in his Raw return promo he doesn't really know how much time he's got. So he can sign a 3 year deal but that doesn't mean he's going to be around for 3 years. It all depends on how he feels once he's done a few more matches. Of course the same thing was said about Shawn Michaels when he returned in 2002 and that turned out to be longer than anyone expected. So we just have to see how it plays out.

Another title run would be cool.

He'll be working at the Lesnar level Probably more than a Lesnar level. That’s like 5 times a year lol I think Edge will be around a little more than that. At the very least, he’ll have the respect for the company to do promos via satellite like The Rock did instead of just not showing up at all.

If I had to guess, it's probably all still up in the air. If he has a one on one match at WM and he feels good afterwards, I'm sure we'll be seeing more of him. If age, injuries, and ring rust catches up to him, I could see this only lasting a few months.
Look at HBK's return as example. He was supposed to be one and done. And the whole sledgehammer shot at the end on his SummerSlam match with Triple H was to write HBK off for good. But he felt so good afterwards that he returned for a few extra dates. That lead to a several year return.
So even though Edge signed a 3 year deal, I think it's a one step at a time situation at the moment.

Edge doesn't have to have another match now until Wrestlemania. After that, SummerSlam. After that, Royal Rumble. The man can come back and do these special matches, and it will be exciting to see. Nobody ever thought we'd see him wrestle again, this is on par to when HBK came back in 2002. It's just a great time to be a wrestling fan!

Wish a certain someone, would sign a deal like that... Right? It's a damn shame that Batista won't come back again.

But honestly... I thought they were teasing an OC vs Rated RKO match at Mania Then when Edge eliminated Orton, i figured they'd just have a small feud into Mania then team up afterwards out of 'Respect' Then RAW happened, and Orton tried to murder the poor man.... So now, who knows what he'll do after Mania, he's signed the 3 year deal so he'll obviously be around. If i had to guess, he'll probably do something of the following: - Feud with Seth, going back to the attack in 2014? 2015? - Jump to Smackdown in the shake up - Feud with Roman for the UV Title - Go after the IC or US Title. - Show up on a Takeover - Lead a Survivor Series team - Win another Royal Rumble

Just like WCW wanting every old WWE Superstar from a bygone era. Expect to see Vince on AEW Dynamite in the far future.

Just like WCW wanting every old WWE Superstar from a bygone era. Expect to see Vince on AEW Dynamite in the far future. Ya mean when Vince felt Savage should be put out to pasture and Macho Man went elsewhere to continue his in-ring career? Yeah, WCW never enjoyed any success after that... Regardless, this thread isn't about the viability of other promotions. Let's not make it one.
