Has anyone else noticed a recent (past few months) rise in secondary prices for elites on ebay and other resale outlets? Both for new release figures and for older elites, especially legends/flashback figures. I would almost think that this would be an opposite trend given the current unemployment situation and people needing to liquidate assets for cash, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I also think it bodes very well for the health and future of the line. Thoughts?

I’ve just recently gotten back into the game and I’m buying up lots of older flashbacks. I thought this would be as good of time as any but boy was I wrong. Prices are insane on eBay.

I’m catching up on series 1-11 & yup I noticed. I ended up paying a little more than I wanted on a few.

Due to the current state, people would list figures for much higher. And people will pay those high amounts.
People will always take advantage of certain situations. Look at those that did sell bleach, wipes, paper products, etc on eBay. They drove the price up, people in need paid the price then eBay shut it down. Then eBay users tried selling the products for regular price, but went very heavy on the shipping price. Yeah....

As long as it sells, the market will realize the price and stay the course and rise. The only way for prices to drop is have no one buy figures for a while. Long gone are the days of an uninformed mom selling her son's figures. Now she studies and lists accordingly lol.

In theory you would be 100% right...but the farther we get from the production of the figures then the prices go up no matter how many buyers there were before. Unless there are rereleases for a certain figure

There is definitely an increase in prices on the secondary market, ironically elite 69 which a lot of people were getting for $7 a piece is one of the most obvious cases of this.

I think people would try to make as much as they could during this time not less so it makes sense the prices are higher. Just like they were/doing with masks/TP/hand sanitizers/etc

I guess with most people sitting at home, there's more demand to purchase anything that keeps people busy? Assuming all this of course
