Serious Question (and before anyone yells at me, I'm not saying people can't be bummed or upset. They have every right to and like I said earlier there are valid criticisms): In the timeframe since Sting signed and his first Mattel came out (which is 2014 and 2015 respectively) what legends have had more total figures than him? Warrior and Savage? The challenge with Sting is he has two distinct eras of his career and Mattel put a bit more emphasis on the Crow era as opposed to the more colorful Surfer Sting period. There were two Elite Surfer Stings so it's not like there were a ton of those figures for folks (like me) who wanted more of that incarnation. Two in six years is not the best ratio. Isn't it 3? The DM, the Elite, and the TNF three-pack (black hair years, but it's still the surfer gimmick). Also, I get that the prevailing attitude is #EliteOnly, bur I don't think it's fair to just discount the four (I believe) surfer Sting basics. That's 7 in 5 years, which ratios out a lot differently.

Maybe he recently signed with AEW? Jake is signed with them but as of right now his Legends 8 figs are still due out so idk.... I'm severely questioning that now :/ Swear Imma pull a Rey Mysterio or Aleister Black if Jake gets canceled XD.

Here is exactly what was announced earlier before it got deleted, so it's saved for posterity.

AEW is going to make a killing off of Sting and Harley Race figures. Yup

It sucks about Sting not coming out. I think mattel did an okay job on Crow Stings, but they did a shi+ job on surfer stings. I believe they only made two? BS. The great american bash didn't do much for me either. Sting is one of the most colorful wrestlers of all time. So many of his looks would have been money in the elite line. My opinion. As a fan of his, I should be allowed to be a little disappointed. Notice how I said, "a little disappointed." -Not freaking out. Hopefully, Sting becomes available to make again soon. I'm sure he will at some point. Now cue some boot licker who wants to give me the business over having an opinion. Or better yet hit me with the "what's going on in the world" line. Seven total DM E62 TNF 3-pack Basic 62 Network Spotlight Fan Central BP JJ Dillon Flashback series And yes, I am also bummed we didn't get more as well. I wanted at the very least an homage to the Galoob figure, and his purple and yellow gear. This would have been awesome. Hopefully at some point it can happen.

It is strange because AFA Steve posted here in early April that the Sting figure was still coming this wave. We had no reason to expect this would happen.
Maybe it's simply a contract issue that has to be hashed out.
And yeah there are still a lot of event specific attires I still want as well for Sting.

They could’ve at least been a little more transparent about the whole thing. Between the pre order being late (Target gonna Target) and being told a couple weeks ago Sting was still in, it’s a bit upsetting.
And with Jake in the next set, it’s disappointing because why shouldn’t we expect something to happen with him too? He’s in the biggest angle on AEW right now, WWE could pull him faster than you can say Elite 1 Jeff Hardy

While this is a shame at the moment, I'll hold off judgement till we get something official.

They are doing Steamboat again. Wm3 won the fan vote and he will be in fan takeover series 1. I'm assuming the same figure but with removable hands and new headsculpt.

Amazing that this all seems to have happened so quickly - Sting was obviously a major part of the relaunch of the line and was - I think - still apart of the line when the Axxess reveals happened last month, so this seems to show that there’s a communications problem between WWE and Mattel concerning the expiry dates of legends contract, which I know is something people have asked about before - from this, it seems like there’s almost zero communication between the companies on expiry dates.
I suspect legends contracts are different from the talent contracts that the released talent were under - maybe the 90 day no-compete extends the terms of things like merchandising rights, hence the Edgeheads still being on the table? (Can’t be bothered to do maths with the dates on that one.)

Sting will come back, when Triple H puts him over at Wrestlemania.

They have an article on Rajah talking about the figure being cancelled and Sting possibily being AEW bound.

Correct me if I’m wrong a lot of people are mentioning Angle not having anymore figure. BUT Steve said just because he’s been released it doesn’t mean he can’t get a figure? Again please correct me if I’m wrong but I’m 90% sure?

Honestly this whole Sting to AEW seems to be a mountain made out of a molehill.

The Deal has been finalized with Mattel
The contract doesn't read Steve Borden, however, the contract reads Jumpin Jeff Farmer
Jumpin Jeff Farmer: Jazwares, you turned the tables on me, you got me...................................mad now

Sonofa...
God dammit, Mattel. WHY WHY WHY do you guys sleep on these talents while they're available?? I understand Sting isn't a current superstar, but for the length of time they had him available, the number of actual elite produced was minimal at best. Even then, I'd argue they never made a truly definitive elite Surfer Sting.
Hogan, Angle, Matt Hardy, Dudleyz, and now Sting. You would've thought they learned their lesson from Hogan back in 2015.
For the love of God, do it right this time around...please produce multiple Hogan looks. DEFINITIVE ATTIRES, MOMENTS, ETC.
Not trying to sound like a jerk, but man,we have one Sting for every 30 Seth Rollins or AJ's and now that door is seemingly closed for who knows how long. Just sucks.
