Dude I can't tell if you're mad about having long hair or short hair, but all I know is I aspire to have Denis Leary's hair. How is Leary's hair so perfect? While watching Rescue Me, it was distracting how great it CONSTANTLY looked. Right?! Hair aside, usually when I'm on duty at the firehouse I rock this look: Listen dog I ing love Rescue Me and it's my favorite show of all time and I'll talk anyone's ear off about it.

Why would a hair thread get locked on WF?
They're like half of the lifeblood of this place.
And yes, I agree. Don't cut it. I had my hair around shoulder length a few years ago, got annoyed in the summer and cut it. Now I'm kind of unintentionally growing it out again (too lazy to go get it cut or cut it myself), and since my hair is thinning faster than a Nolan Ryan fastball, I'm getting dangerously close to rocking Corbin's former skullet. I could've at least enjoyed it still looking decent for 3-4 years...

You kind of look like you could be related to Eddie Vedder.

I've had long hair for going on 11 years now. Before I grew it out this time, I cut it. OP is correct. Don't cut it. Ever. You'll just want to, and will, re-grow it. I had long hair up until 2nd or 3rd grade but started shaving my hair. It went back and forth until I said it let's grow it out again. I feel weird now. My coolness went out the window. If you thought you were cool, you weren't cool. "I looked so cool but now look slightly less cool" is a superb line, though. I'll give you that.

I take the guard off my clippers and go to town every three weeks. That's a haircut you can set your watch to.

I've kept my hair on the long side since like 96-97. Around 2000 was the first time I had heard of donating your hair for cancer patients so I started doing that. It takes about a year and half or so to get it back to long for me.

Man I buzzed all my hair off around two months ago and it's growing in pretty good at this rate but I was getting scared for a minute, I wasn't ready to lose my mane forever.

I was growing my hair out for a couple years. But with summer making the US consistently 90°F and living near a ing river with a creek in my backyard I decided to shave my goddamn head. My hair was about mid chest length. It's been about a month and I'm still ing pissed. If you have long hair and you aren't going bald don't cut it, just ing don't.. I do understand your point here, as I used to have hair that went well below my shoulders. I liked it, even though I'm from a generation and area where people thought it was weird. I wasn't making any kind of statement other than I never thought that short hair looked good on me. However, I always thought that I'd look good bald if I ever decided to go that route. I finally took blade to skull one day, and I was very pleased with the result. It's very fortunate that I was happy with the look because roughly 8 years later, I noticed thin spots as I was shaving. I was glad that I got to make the choice rather than being forced into it. It's also been one less problem during this pandemic, and I'm thankful for that. So for those who ask me about shaving, I tell them that if they don't have any bad scars or if they don't feel any asymmetry to their skull, a clean dome might be a good option.

I can't wait for my hair to be long again late next year. I'm just trying to figure out how to keep my head cool when the hair comes back. Though I enjoy not having to constantly wear hats because I refused to put my hair up in anyway. I think I should have just trimmed it, but I am anti social as all hell and barber shops freak me out. That's why I decided to grow my hair out to begin with. Plus I don't know how to describe the way I want my hair cut. My social anxiety is going to ruin me, were we talking about hair?
