Definitely a good show. Ladder match was really good and felt really long. I was 50/50 on Grimes or Priest winning, so not a surprising to me that Priest won. Was kinda pulling for Grimes, but cool that Priest won. Thought several times during the match that it was over, and it probably happened with every participant.
Missed a good amount of the women’s match so I’ll have to re-watch it, it sounds like it was really good. Cole/McAfee was a shocker, didn’t expect Pat to do some of the things that he did. Pretty impressive, although I still think he controlled way too much of the match. Interested to see what Cole does next. Main event was.. okay. Kross clearly isn’t a guy who can “go” like we’re accustomed to seeing in NXT. Which is fine when he’s so character and presentation based like he is, but I’m just really into it. Sucks that Keith won two belts and then is left with none a month and a half later. We’ll see what happens next for both, but I definitely love the idea mentioned earlier of Demon Bálor dethroning Kross.

I love the 'work rate' guys as much as anybody, I still regularly go back and watch old PWG matches, which are almost literally all about work rate lol. I love 'spotfests'. Doesn't mean it's the only thing that can be successful in NXT though. One look at that closing screen of Kross and Scarlett with the fire and him holding the title shows exactly why he's the guy with the belt.

In my statement I meant to say that I’m not really into him, but that doesn’t mean I think it’s bad or anything.

I thought it was a fun show. Was very impressed with McAfee and the whole show flew by. However, beth Phoenix is horrible on commentary. She had to have been reading off a script last night that was what it sounded like to me

If Kross does drop the title and has to take some months off, I could see him going straight up to the main roster when he can return. He'll be able to go up undefeated and as an uncrowned champion, so that may help legitimize him.

It was probably my least favorite takeover. The main event was really boring and I was disappointed because I like both guys. Working Keith’s arm and then never going back to it was odd. I thought it would play into the end of the match. It’s way too soon to have Keith drop the title and way too soon for Kross to win it. The ladder match was fun but I don’t really care about Priest. I was hoping for Bronson to get it with that sick Bam Bam gear

Finn/Thatcher was cool, something different...seems weird to have Thatcher lose because I figured he had a lot of momentum lately, but maybe they are gearing Finn up for a big push.
The ladder match was insane, some real cool spots. I was kind of hoping Grimes would have won, he's been killing it lately as that annoying heel. Priest still is just missing something. But they are gonna give him a shot to succeed
I can't even describe how impressed I was with McAfee, and the match in general. While the finish was poorly executed in the build up, I loved the rest of the storyline of the match. You had to give Pat some kind of good offense, and his downfall was the fact he was too over-confident. Cole waited for him to blow up and then took advantage, so it made Pat go "low" to try and sneak a victory. Brilliant work, McAfee was damn impressive on every level.
Unless they are calling Lee up it seems real strange to go through what they did with him, and have him lose the big belt so soon. The match was OK. Kind of a weird finish, and it was almost like the commentary didn't know it was going to happen.
Overall an entertaining show. I feel like they should have had one more "big" match in there given it was a pretty significant show, maybe if things were normal it would have been. But still, nXt is fantastic.

I'm curious if you can kinda hazard a guess as to what you feel he's missing? I ask because personally he's felt like the total package to me as Damien Priest, but I was not a Punishment Martinez fan at all when he was wrestling under that gimmick. It's cool if he's not totally clicking for you, it's just interesting to me when I consider how he's changed my perception of him. I wonder if they didn't know that was going to be the finish. Kross seperated his shoulder midway in the match, so it's possible they altered the finish a bit on the fly. Your assessment of the Pat/Cole match is 100% how I saw it too.

I really like Priest so i don't think he is missing much, i guess he can always improve his matches but he has had some real good one this year. He looks the part and can talk.

Your assessment of the Pat/Cole match is 100% how I saw it too. the thing with Priest to me is that they've never given him a clear direction. he's this mysterious guy, the "archer of infamy" but what does that even mean??? he makes the shooting arrow thing in his entrance thats it. he was face, then turned heel randomly, but then face again i guess? like i dont really know what he DOES. he just doesn't feel polished, in the ring or in general. he's decent in the ring, ill give him that. he does have some kind of presence about him, but i just dont think he "connects" with the audience in the way others do. i feel like people just have mixed feelings on the guy overall. and for the record i like him too. but its just "like"....thats about it. guys like Lee, Finn, Ciampa, Gargano, i love. stronger feelings towards as performers. im even warming up to guys like Grimes because he is playing that weasel heel perfectly. I kinda feel the same way about Priest as I do Bronson Reed...like he's cool, I get why he's got a good spot on the card, I don't mind watching him work, but I'm not like "glued to the set" when they are on

See NXT has a habit of this. Elias gets these really interesting promos that promote this really interesting drifter character, debuts as just a generic heel. Ember Moon got promos of this really interesting mystic character dancing under a red moon and she’s got red eyes, debuts as just a wrestler with a vague ninja gimmick

i'm a little late to the game...
- balor/thatcher was a decent start although i wasn't crazy invested. finn just seems cucked by being on nxt to me. lol
- ladder match was a ton of fun, that flipping powerslam gargano took on the outside...ooof!
- cool to see damian get the win, he's got a great look
- time for pat mcafee, nxt's best heel!
- cole/mcafee is easily the most can't-miss feud of wwe's of this year for me. surprising, and it's been done oddly where cole became a face, but the feud has been great
- that finish was a bit strange for mcafee to drift towards him for cole's finish, but outside of that, really fun and good match. was fun to see mcafee selling differently than how everyone's taught to. did a great job
- yay ciampa is back.
- cross/lee was good, they gave it a good chunk of time. felt like a real battle. would've preferred to see this feud extended for a month or two and cross finally get a win, but this works too. the commentators undersold the finish imo, but oh vell
fun event!

Just finished watching too - not seeing the hate for it. Yeah the main event was a let down but the other 4 matches more than delivered.
I did think the ladder match was a bit sloppy though, despite some cool spots. Was pleased to see Priest win. Finally starting to get excited by him since he stopped being a generic heel.

I got around too watching and it was a pretty good show. Not as awesome as past takeovers, but not bad at all. Opening match was a great wrestling match, ladder match was fun(loved Reed’s Bam Bam Bigelow tribute attire), McAfee did his thing but imo got too much offense, women’s match was solid, and the main event was ok and the injury is unfortunate.
