Literally for me now I see big RETURNS in WM matched and it could only be:
Rock Vs Reigns
Punk Vs Styles
I do think we'll see Goldberg back again at some point so possibly see him finally take on Riddle I dunno.

^^ yeah, edge's return last rumble was their "Sting" moment.

^^ yeah, edge's return last rumble was their "Sting" moment. Agreeable; it may not strike twice in 2021. But having Edge back in a fresh program will generate views and buzz. Cm Punk really is the only other one to mind. Or if Dean Ambrose ever returns to the WWE in the future and has some showdown with his Shield stable mates.

I’d mark out if Robocop showed up on Raw or Smackdown

The WWE doesn't need a "Sting" moment. And they would have to have Punk go to NXT since that's the show that goes up against AEW. Raw is pulling higher numbers than AEW already. But that Punk train has long left. Sure it would be big for about three seconds, like Stings "return", funny how many people didn't care about Sting that much a few years ago when he was a regular on Impact.
The Rock showing up on NXT giving someone a boost there could have potential though.

There is only Punk at this point. I must be missing something. I don’t find Sting’s appearance in AEW to really be all that big a deal. Like it’s cool, but I don’t think it really moved the needle that much for AEW. To me, it just wasn’t really that shocking or that much of a surprise. I was like “Of course Sting would show up in AEW. He was one of the top guys in WCW.” I think the ending of the show with Omega did more for AEW than Sting’s appearance. It looked like Darby Allin's grandad had randomly wandered into Dairy's Place.

Sting showing up to AEW in his 60s to point at people & probably be a corner man for that spot monkey Darby Allin is definitely not shattering the wrestling world in any way.
WWE doesn’t “need” any one to compete with that.

Edge coming back didn't do much of anything this time so why would him coming back again do anything?
Even if The Rock did come back and bring the media attention along with it I'm not sure how much the ratings change. Even if they do for a little bit it would go back to the way it was before he came back.
Nobody, not even Punk, is going to save the ratings.

Hate the guy if ya want but can't deny he would bring in ratings.

Hate the guy if ya want but can't deny he would bring in ratings. Considering WWE would much rather make a splash in the national headlines than wrestling dirt sheets, not to mention the past history and current friendship/political alliance, that is one of the biggest moves they could do. Debatable THE biggest move. Ain't gonna try to undermine that.

CM Punk is the last one left, but the product is so dead now that I think he's fully over it. The Rock is no doubt being saved for a Wrestlemania swansong with Roman Reigns, but again, this can't happen under COVID.
It's a shame they didn't get Austin for one last Match at Wrestlemania 32 in Texas, that was his last chance and I remember Stone Cold vs Brock Lesnar being the huge plan for that. The ship sailed for him after that though.

The biggest deal about Sting's AEW debut was that he returned to TNT after 19 years. Now that's been done so now he's just another retired legend in the promotion.
WWE doesn't need a huge legends return
