Was there like... nothing else on last night? I don't know because I don't watch a lot of television, but it seems like a lot of people like...knew they don't like WWE, but watched two straight nights of it anyway.
I dunno I guess that's kinda weird to me.

Safe to say this has been the most controversial WrestleMania in WFigs history. Never seen an event spark so many separate nonsense arguments.
If only people cared this much about sh*t that actually mattered to the betterment of the human condition.

To be fair, I'd argue that two black women headlining something as niche as wrestling actually does matter to the betterment of the human condition. The idea being that hopefully we're finally understanding that representation really ing matters, like a lot. If it's becoming accepted enough that it's hitting less mainstream things that can kind of push it past the typical pr move and suggest maybe some actual societal change is happening.

I dunno I guess that's kinda weird to me. Some didn’t watch I’d imagine and just read results or saw clips and decided it was terrible because it wasn’t something from over 20 years ago. That would be my guess. The ones complaining about it seem to be the ones that have hated most WWE shows for nearly a decade or so.

How ridiculous would it have been had Macho Man & Hogan started crying before their main event match at Mania 5? Would that have looked good? Or before Austin/ Rock at 17 during the stare down they just both start smiling and crying at each other...
What some of you guys aren’t understanding is that, No, Sasha/ Bianca wasn’t those matches, but it WAS positioned in the same spot and had the same opportunity to be. All I’m saying is it will NEVER be those matches because those guys were professionals. If we’re gonna cry before every big moment and break the illusion, no, it will never be those matches. Wrestling isn’t very good anymore and nobody seems to understand it’s stuff like this that is making it that way.
Everyone likes the Fiend, why? Because he lives the character. How does nobody realize this?

The first time two black women were in the main event of a PPV, which happens to be the biggest wrestling show of the year, is a reason to get emotional. The fact that men, who had main evented multiple times on multiple big shows, did not show the same emotion is irrelevant. Two black women who grew up not seeing any black women do that, got to be the first. It’s a big ing deal. Hearing the crowd support them in that only made it more special for them. Seems like you’re the one not understanding. It’s wrestling. Who cares if “the curtain is pulled back.” Old school fans have such hang ups.

It blows my mind because like, it's not like you don't have other options. If you only like old wrestling, it's all available really freaking easily. I know Peacock means some of it hasn't been available for Americans for the past couple weeks, but there's still lots and more is coming. If you like modern wrestling but don't like WWE, there is a near infinite amount of stuff out there to watch. There are plenty of popular tv shows I don't like and don't watch. I've never felt the need to go on a walking dead forum and trash it to people who like it because I don't. What a bizarre waste of my time that would be.

Oh most of them are boycotting Peacock and still swearing that it will be editing out most the Attitude Era despite the entire Attitude Era already being uploaded and intact outside two instances. So they are dying on that hill. Still, they could have watched their vhs copies or something else.

I never really understood just how much representation mattered until I started working with marginalized groups. Then I realized just how significant that stuff really is. That's a moment to pull back the curtain, because that's a moment that just inspired a ton of young women, and especially young women of colour. Honestly that fourth wall break made the moment more special to me personally. Made it real.

The illusion has been broken for ages. If you're still watching wondering why curtain calls are taking place from the top on down, that's on you, not the performers.
It's actually kinda weird that some of the same people who openly acknowledge the lack of a curtain by routinely griping about booking and backstage decisions are the ones clamoring the loudest over the lack of an illusion.

People are going blue in the face almost exclusively for the first time over this, and when presented with examples that are identical in every respect but the representation, a laundry list of flimsy reasons why that argument isn't valid is already in hand. I'll take part in the narrative idgaf. If it walks like a duck and all that.

Funny considering everyone who doesn’t agree with you are saying they’d feel the same way if Drew/Lashley went on last night 1, but sure let’s turn it into “sexism” and “racism.” Or did you become selectively blind when reading those parts of the posts...

Wait, weren’t you the one saying it was tacky that there’s posts comparing Apollo’s current character to something out of black Panther...yeah, it was. So what is it, do you want to see more inclusion by embracing different cultures, or is it tacky to compare a performers background to a socially relevant and popular character...

Funny considering everyone who's saying that was nowhere to be found when everyone was gushing over the main event of night 1 last year. Was the WWE going out of their way to promote Taker/AJ as a main event match? Nah, not really, and just like I asked you yesterday, how does posting a bunch of others quotes from last year affect my stance on this. Just like I don’t think AJ/Taker was a WM main event, Sasha/Bianca wasn’t either.
