Seems like a lost cause but I've been a fan of Shelton Benjamin since the Ruthless era. It just seems like talent like him is stuck in limbo on the WWE roster. It bothers me because Drew is no where near Sheltons caliber but he is the one who is chosen. When will it be Shelton's time?

Well he is older now. But he is actually doing something of note for the first time since he has been back with THB. So that is good. The chance to pull the trigger was in his first run but I don't think it was ever the right time. One of the better IC champions of the 2000s though. Probably one of the greatest PURE athletes in company history.

He's doing more now than I ever thought he would upon coming back, tbh. And I don't mean that in a negative way, just the reality of his veteran status.

Probably too old and not a good enough talker to be the top guy now, but he's found himself a really good role with the Hurt Business. On TV every week. Making money. You don't need to be World Champion in order to be a success. Shelton has had a very worthwhile career.

I think once Shelton is done with the whole Hurt Business thing he would be such a great long term carrier of the IC or United States title, even at his age. I would really like to see him beat Honkytonk Mans IC record. Imagine the kick ass matches Shelton and Cesaro, if he even stays, could have over the belt. That right there is a nice long term storyline for the belt. Ah, wishful thinking.

As long as his "Momma" stays far, far away, I'm good with however they use him (as long as he's on TV regularly!).

"Drew is nowhere close to Shelton's calibre"... You really think Shelton Benjamin could carry RAW, like McIntyre has been doing? Benjamin has absolutely no personality or promo skills for one... he is - and always will be a mid-carder.

Still love that match he had with Shawn Michaels on Raw years ago.

Drew McIntyre is not a draw Miz is not a draw Jinder is not a draw
Yet they put them up like were suppose to praise them for their amazing work. They may talk (or more able to read a script maybe except for Miz) but they are not entertaining wrestlers. There are plenty of wrestlers who entertain and can be big draws with the right work. Considering how AJ Styles wasnt good with promo in TNA and with some work, gets good in WWE.

Shelton was basically brought back to be a player-coach and job to younger guys. Yet, he finds himself a champion in a top level stable. I’d say he’s doing pretty good for himself.

He’ll never have his time in the main event spotlight now. His time should’ve happened a long time ago.

Shelton is in a good spot now considering his age. Hurt Business is one of the few enjoyable things on the show compared to all the hot garbage that we see every week. Shelton has never been a main event guy, super talented and always has been an underrated performer but was never a promo guy unfortunately, and I think that held him back some. Maybe you could have that conversation 10 years ago, but that ship has sailed.

Drew is more of an all-rounder while Shelton is a charisma vacuum.
Shelton's time has been and gone.

No one is a draw for TV ratings. Except Roman Reigns which is why Smackdown does almost double what Raw does every week

This is a throwback! Misguided calls for Shelton Benjamin to be a main event wrestler is one of the classic IWC tropes, and I haven't seen it in so long. Even on his best day, Shelton was nowhere near top of the company quality. Springboard moves alone weren't enough to put him on the same tier as the likes of Triple H, Lesnar, Michaels, Goldberg, Cena, Batista, Orton, Edge etc. During his original WWE stint, RVD, Rey Mysterio and later Kofi Kingston were also doing springboards AND showing some character (or at least flashy costimes) at the same time.
Shelton Benjamin is in a great spot right now for an older guy who can't display any personality or presence and has no skills that stand out. MVP has done wonders for the careers of all three of his Hurt Business colleagues.

I love Shelton!
Not everyone you love needs to be world champion.
