If you would have done that to me and my family me and you would have taken the situation outside.

It's not so much that the meme is offensive it's that it is silly and illogical. Someone somewhere decided that all the middle aged white women who cause a scene and put down employees and patrons at establishments are named "Karen" and lots of other people ran with it thinking it was funny or true. I'm sure if someone took a moment to ask the name, it would most likely not be Karen. There's way too many names out there for all these women to have that one name. Their real name should be given, not the silly meme that may eventually cause harm to someone named Karen at some point.

The thing that really bugs me is parents that give their children cell phones or tablets to play with or to watch/listen to things. They blast it to no end and have ZERO consideration for anyone else and the staff never says a thing. You know what? Along with their expensive high tech tablets and phones they also have this new invention called HEAD PHONES. Why can't they put these on their kids instead of disrupting everyone else? It's ridiculous and out of control. I cannot tell you how many times I have asked to move no matter at what point we are there. Kids are kids, parents are the ones who are inconsiderate a'holes. You can buy your 5 year old a $600 ipad or let him use your $1200 phone but you can't afford a $1 pair of cheap headphones from the dollar store? Really? Instead let everyone at the restaurant enjoy the latest episode of baby shark. Thanks, just what I wanted on date night with the wife.

there are so many goofy takes in this thread that I’m just gonna move on with my life
manage your kids, but don’t be an inconsiderate douche to parents. both parties just need to be considerate. not threatening violence lmao

The other day me and my girlfriend were seated directly across from a table with a small child that was making a ton of noise. The kid was nonstop yelling and squealing which disrupted our meal experience. We kept quiet but I did walk right by their table as we were leaving and said "it sure would be nice to eat a meal in peace". My gf told me we should have asked to move but the place was full and we had already waited 30 minutes to get in, if anything I should have told a manager to move the disruptive party. Have any of you dealt with a situation like this?? I blame the parents to be honest, if your kid can't behave in a public place then don't disrupt the meals of others is what I say. I agree with you. We started bringing our children to restaurants at a very early age in order to teach them how to behave in public. We would let them color or bring a few small toys (that didn't make noise). I also can't stand how some parents let their kids stare at a screen the whole time. It's so lazy of them and teaches children nothing socially.

I really wish there were adult restuarants. Like, 18+ only. So you get people at an age that can usually behave. I'd eat out more than 2-3 times a decade if that was the case.

Could be the kid is autistic, or has additional needs or whatever, could also be crap parenting.
I don't think the shirty comment on the way out did anything for anyone, you're night out had been ruined already and the party with the kid probably wasn't having a ball either.
If it bothered you that much then asking to move tables would have been more productive.

If it bothered you that much then asking to move tables would have been more productive. For what it's worth, I've been at family outings (such as wakes even) and one family has a boy with some severe autistic traits. He would go under tables while people ate, eat off the floor and take scrapes from plates, yell & scream, etc.... a ton of other outlandish things. Sometimes you need to be a little fragile when it comes to these situations, because you never really know what is the cause of the issue. It could be more than just a noisy child...
