Possibly due to NXT UK closing down and NXT Europe being formed?
Flash Morgan Webster Mark Andrews Wild Boar Jack Starz Amale Dave Mastiff Ashton Smith
Sucks to see anyone lose their job, hopefully they are able to get back on their feet real soon.

I just posted in the NXT/NXT UK thread that Mark Andrews, Jack Starz, and Wild Boar have also been released.
EDIT: Add these names to the list:
Emilia McKenzie Nina Samuels Sha Samuels Rohan Raja Primate Dani Luna Sam Gradwell Kenny Williams
Yeah, it really does suck to see so many folks lose their jobs. Hopefully they can catch on with some of the other UK promotions. Progress has really been tearing it up lately.

My guess with them shuttering NXT UK, they werent going to pay them to sit at home & these stars werent interested in coming to the states so probably released them to allow them to sign/work and earn money until NXT Europe is up and running...Then they could have the option to rejoin.

Well NXT UK need a massive overhaul anyways and when Dunne & Walter left for NXT and then the main roster real killed the brand for me,plus Covid.
I assumed that most of the current UK rostercwas going to get the cut and only the ones that showed up on NXT this week and maybe a few others where going to stick around.
For NXT:Europe I hope that they bring in a name or two from the main roster to help the brand out, someone who's perfect for the role and spinning his wheels in WWE right now is Sheamus. You ad him with some former UK talents and a bunch of fresh talents from the indy scene and the returning Dragouv and you could have something.
Personal still think the route to go was to just fold NXT:UK and being a handful of talents to the states foe NXT and the main roster and to focus solely on NXT as their minor league brand.Hard to run multiple and across the world at the same time.

Trent Seven is baffling, especially deep into his hot feud with Bate.
I hope they bring him back once NXT Europe finds its feet.

This is exactly what I'm thinking too. When they get the new NXT Europe up and running they'll need to fill out the roster, so they'll probably hire some of these folks back. At least I hope so. I'm excited to see where this new version on NXT Europe goes. New faces and new gimmicks/characters. It should be a nice refresh of the brand.

It's hilarious how when others were fired before people screamed and yelled and beat themselves in the heads with boards running around in circles in their driveways about how EVIL Vince McMahon was for letting so many people go during these bad times. And now, it's like "aw! that makes sense!".
Stay fickle wrestling "fans"!

And now, it's like "aw! that makes sense!". Stay fickle wrestling "fans"! There were almost 200 wrestlers released during the course of a pandemic, many of which would struggle to find any other form of income to provide for their families when very few wrestling companies could put on shows. Triple H has actively rehired many of those guys that haven't signed elsewhere (with nore expected) and put them in prominent positions on the main roster while letting go a bunch of people that were part of a brand on its deathbed and likely didn't want to relocate to America. They'll now be able to pick up bookings elsewhere. Come on man, the situations aren't even close to comparable.

And not to mention a lot of the guys let go were talent we all saw with having a huge upside from how they were used (there were few in a uproar over Nia and Lana being released) a lot of these UK guys don’t really have that huge upside where they were gonna be used way better in another role. Some like Trent Seven could be used for more. But a lot of these guys will potentially used in big fish in small pond scenarios. So like you said these situations are crazy different.

What was the reason for releasing Strowman and Wyatt? 2 of the most popular acts the company had? Because Vince didn’t like them, that’s right

I hope they don't go crazy with a bloated roster for NXT:Euro.I would suggest starting out with just like 20 male wrestlers and no female division.Just have a European championship and tag team championships and thats it.Have the roster be 10 current or former names that people know and then ten brand new fresh names.Have a mix of old and knew and again bring over and establish name or two from WWE like Sheamus.
Also maybe have a on air authority figure like Fit Finlay.Who behind the scenes would also make a great trainer and teacher.
