Sami Uso the MVP of War Games.
And THAT is how you tell a story.

Sami zayn is somehow involved in the best storyline in pro wrestling and closing out a PPV main event with everything revolving around him

This story is literally why we all watch wrestling and what it’s all about. It’s had ups, downs, unpredictablity. It has elevated everyone.

the storyline is masterful
but the match itself kinda sucked. there weren't any real good "big" spots....which is kinda the point of wargames

AJ Styles and Finn Balor was the match of the night. We need to forget about the feud and bring back the Bullet Club.

I believe a reunited Bullet Club against The Bloodline would be entertaining.

I'm happy War Games delivered for those who enjoyed it! I'm glad those that did got to enjoy seeing it on the main roster for the first time!
I just don't think War Games matches are for me. lol I found them both extremely boring! Like, long and hard to watch boring. And we got two of them! My brain could not take it!
Between those we had Ronda/Shotzi which was nothing short of a disaster. AJ/Balor which I found boring as sin. And the triple threat. Which was fine, but I have zero interest in those three as characters right now so I didn't really care.
I am very happy for the people who loved it though! Must have been super exciting seeing this all happen!

Main event told a great story, but I’m just not into the “WWE” version of War Games. Atleast back when the cage surrounded the rings and the ringside area it made sense for competitors to go for weapons under the ring. Now it just seems too convoluted and “planned” as someone has to delay entering the match to throw a bunch of weapons into the ring. Cool for those that enjoy it but this version of War Games isn’t for me.
Styles/Balor was match of the night for me (as I expected it to be).

The Bloodline and the story that’s been told throughout its existence are the greatest things wrestling as a whole has produced in a long time. The stuff of legends.. history in the making.. nothing has come near it since its inception and when it’s all over it’ll be the end of an era.

Women's WarGames was better match wise, but I didn't really care because there wasn't much storyline significance. Also felt really long.
I don't know how to say this any other way, but Styles/Balor felt very Raw main event. Like they never really kicked into full gear.
Shotzi/Ronda was abysmal, like holy crap lmao
US Title 3-Way was good, but Theory winning the US Title like 3 weeks after failing his cash-in is dumb.
Men's WarGames wasn't as good match wise, but story telling made up for it.
I'd give the show a 5.5 or 6.5 out of 10

This PPV was average at best. I think tonight just confirmed that I'm just not a fan of the War Games match. Waiting for everyone to enter just seems pointless since the match hasn't started so therefore it can't end. Its just 20+ minutes of fighting for no reason. I like that they tried something different with the Survivor Series format though. Champion vs champion was getting a bit stale.
The women's War Games was a botch ridden mess. I don't know why Alexa was in the match, she done nothing apart from a silly handcuff spot. Great finish though. Too bad my stream died just before it happened.
I don't know what it is with AJ matches. We all know hes great and when hes paired with an equally great opponent that you'd expect a quality match out of, it almost always seems to fall short. Orton, Shinsuke, Edge, and now Balor. This match wasn't bad per se but it was just 'good' when it should have been great. These two have history, they're friends and enemies. The story writes itself yet none of that seemed to come into play. The finish was super anti climatic. The way it panned out, I was expecting to see Finn kick out. At the same time though, it was refreshing to see a match end after one finisher rather than two or three.
Ronda and Shotzi was another mess. I love Ronda's matches. Like Lesnar, she brings an unmatched level of authenticity to the ring. She needs to be against a Charlotte or Becky for her matches to truly shine though. When shes against someone who is still somewhat inexperienced like Liv Morgan or botchy like Shotzi, it can be difficult to show off how good she really is. I like her trash talking too. It reminds me of Kevin Owens.
The Triple Threat was great, especially towards the end. Really liking the new Theory. Its easier to take him seriously now that hes ditched the stupid selfie gimmick. Really creative finish although Lashley needs to change his spear. Visually it looks explosive but the momentum of his Spear needs to be going into his opponent instead of his little flip to the side. Thats why it looked like he clotheslined Rollins' mid section rather than actually spearing him.
Main event was fun, and like Triple H said, War Games would be story driven and this one certainly was. The only thing I don't like about the Sami and Owens story is that were supposed to pretend that they're best friends and ignore the fact that they've been enemies for most of their WWE career. So when Sami low blowed him, I didn't think much of it because I had no reason to. Sami is a heel character. Why would he take on The Bloodline? Thats two on four, even though Roman alone counts as three. It makes no sense for him to turn on them.
Feels weird that were in November and the next PPV isn't until the end of January. I'm all for less PPVs. Also, after a quick google, the main event was the 41st War Games match.
