Loved the fact Mach won Big Gold for first time here
Fans booing Hogan was the cherry on top
and boy did they boo him. Who on earth in creative thought him reacting like that was a good idea...LOL. Also since Hogan had so much control over his creative it shows you he was pretty disconnected. He wasnt after though....Bischoff said on 83 weeks that this & a couple of Nitros afterwards prompted "the talk" & the 1st mentions of his heel turn.

Yeah they had to start the talks after this
They really got louder into early 96 as well. Both SuperBrawl and Uncensored crowds werent fond of em to say the least. It was def time...

TNT started showing WCW Nitro and the PPVs here in Ireland around March 1996. Nitro was on Friday and if there was a PPV the Sunday before it would follow on afterwards and I remember watching Uncensored 96 with my pal Greg. We both noticed the boos for Hogan...they were clear as a bell.
Although I watched the Clash before BATB 94 a while back and the boos were damn loud for Hogan when he came out at the end of that show. It was a thing from Day 1 but got louder gradually.

Still shake my head at his creative control during this time. The crowd were just over em as a babyface and yet he books himself to be Superman by fending off the DOD in the cage at SB and that ridiculous ''Doomsday cage'' match
I haven't seen this show in years! You have inspired me to give it a watch. Crazy to think that less than a year prior Vince thought Savage was too old and wanted to put him out to pasture and here he is the world champ!

Vince was a fool to think that.
Savage could still go at a pretty high-level up until about 1998. But you know what? I'm glad he got that WCW run - it's probably my favourite of his whole career.
Man, I'm a self-admitted Hulkamaniac, but this has always bothered me. Hogan overshadowed Macho's entire 1st WWF title reign, and then tried to do the same here with his 1st WCW title reign.

same here and since im watching rumbles lately, its right up the same ally of sorts

Hogan tried to do that the 2nd time Macho won the belt, but Randy called him out on it.

I really liked WCW World War 3 for the 1995 year. It was a fun twist in battle royals. It's like they took Battle Bowl and gave it steroids to add that 3rd ring to it.
I went back and watched WCW Nitro from the beginning of 1995 - around Hall debuting in 1996, and I gotta say, even the before NWO era of WCW Nitro was wildly entertaining! I think it was because we were seeing story lines and matches on the Nitro events and on the PPVs, that we never usually see or haven't seen in a long time.
The first half of 1995 was pretty bad, but the second half once Vader left and Luger returned seemed to be really enjoyable, especially leading into 1996 with seeing Malenko, Benoit, Guerrero, and others debut or make an impact.
