Lmfao, I said in the Rumble thread that Cody HAD to finish his story this time or it wouldn’t matter a single bit going forward…and here we are, the story won’t get finished. It was a mistake last year and it’s an even bigger one this year. Roman vs Rock is MONEY, but it’s not the long term draw. It’s a short sighted vision, with no long term plans. Cody beating Seth does nothing for either guy, it’s barely even a consolation prize at this point that I genuinely believe will do more damage to both guys in time. Seth will lose a 4th straight to Cody, and Cody’s first “major” championship isn’t the one he’s been gunning for, for 3 years. Neither guy gets “better” because of it. It’ll also take a good deal of shine off Cody for when he does finally beat Roman (which I’m sure will eventually happen) because it’s been bait and switch for YEARS at that point. Stupid 🤦♂️

Wow, what a disaster!!! It's amazing how hot WWE was after Surivior Series and now everyone involved in Wrestlemania looks foolish.

Now we could finally see The Rock finish the story ☺️🥰 I’m actually really excited about this match and we’ve been wanting The Rock vs Roman Reigns for ages. I wish it could of happened sooner, but honestly it’s better now than never. Everyone will tune in regardless. As someone who does not watch the WWE product anymore and tune in occasionally when I’m bored, this has a big time feel to it. This has me interested in watching the buildup. I have a feeling our tribal chief is going to come out victorious come Wrestlemania night. I also think Cody and Seth have better chemistry than Roman and Cody. The only issue being is that Cody already defeated Seth like twenty times. It would also hurt Cody if Seth beats him too. Cody could finish his story at Summerslam. Woooot!

Cody's story is already finished. I doubt it. After he beats Seth, he could challenge Roman and then unify all the belts. Champion vs champion. The only issue I see is that it wouldn’t have been at Wrestlemania. Actually, this would of been cooler if Cody was already champion and challenging Roman with a belt.

I know it might be hard to believe, but there are people that couldn't give a crap about Roman vs. Rock. Never had, or will have any interest in the match. Overrated "dream match," that probably won't be any good, will likely have Rock get blown up early, injured or both, and in about ten years, Rock will be telling some bs story about it, since the last few years, he's starting to take a bit out of Hogan's book with embellishing details. Plus, this match does not need the title and in fact could be done better without the title. Now that it seems pretty much a lock, I just want the match done and over with, and Rock can go back to playing the same character in another couple dozen movies.

Seth has been carrying a mid card title. It would have elevated it to be defends against Punk. Since that’s not the case, it’s essentially like Cena winning the 2013 Rumble and deciding to wrestle Jack Swagger.
Cody beats Seth: Ok, you picked the easier challenge and beat the guy you already beat 3 times. Cool?
Seth beats Cody: Ok, you couldn’t even beat Seth. No way you could have beat Roman. You look even more like a chump.

Cody beat Seth in HIAC with a torn pec, how could this forth match have any stakes? Were they really gonna make it a Triple Threat with Punk initially?

Haven’t seen Smackdown yet, but have seen spoilers.
I’m prepared for levels of boos beyond Batista winning the rumble for Rock vs Roman at mania, if that is indeed the plan. Just can’t see it not happening.
Gutted for Cody if this is the way they are going and he doesn’t get Roman at Mania. Plus, it make Cody look foolish for calling out Roman middle of the ring after his rumble win.

Have a feeling the fans might turn in Rock vs Roman once the reality sets in that the Rock is 50 years old, washed, and can maybe give you a 10 minute match at best before injuring himself. Then fans will realize that Cody should have gotten his moment, possibly even as last year

Now that it seems pretty much a lock, I just want the match done and over with, and Rock can go back to playing the same character in another couple dozen movies. The thing is all WWE cares about is money. They don’t care about pleasing the hardcore fans. It’s kind of a bit of both. You have to appeal to the people who will still buy the product regardless, but to the people who will gain interest just because of the superstars involved or intrigue. It’s the same reason why it took so long for WWE to give Daniel Bryan the belt. The fans had to hijack the shows. WWE wants to bring in the causals because they also bring in a crapload of money. They care about buzz, the average Joe talking about The Rock vs Roman Reigns, the annoying influencers (or might I call them persuaders) the casuals who watch The Rock’s movies, the fans from the Attitude Era who no longer watches WWE. It brings more money than Cody vs Reigns. We all know the match isn’t going to be good, but the energy will. Everyone complaining will still watch the match and that’s not a prediction, that’s a spoiler.

I can't help but wonder if all this is just a diversion and they're planning some sort of swerve. Rock Vs Roman is money no doubt, but from a storyline and booking perspective, this does feel drastic.
The seeds planted for Cody Vs Roman was there for years and it feels weird if all of sudden they start going the opposite direction at this point.

It's just too late for Rock/Roman. It is Cody's time (again lol). Rock/Roman also doesn't need to be a title match, so it could happen next year once Cody has beaten Roman.

Cody beat Seth in HIAC with a torn pec, how could this forth match have any stakes? Were they really gonna make it a Triple Threat with Punk initially? That's my other main concern. There's no steam behind Cody Vs Seth. The only thing I can think of that would make this work is that Seth would have to play some sort of motivational role to give Cody his confidence back and that would somehow shoehorn him back into the mania picture with Roman.

It’s just going to be funny for the next two months watching Cody try and convince everyone why going after Seth, which he has said isn’t finishing his story, is the right move. All while everyone knows that man is dead inside.

Relax people. Cody will get his title shot. Just not at WM and not versus Roman. Cody is going to finish his silly story but beat the Rock. At Summer Slam. Roman finally loses (and is protected in a way), Rock gets his final spotlight at WM, then Cody goes over against the Great One. I called it a week ago ... just thought Rock would've gone heel. I think they know he'll win it eventually. I think they just prefer it to happen at Mania because the energy probably won't hit the same if it happened at another PLE.

Really though, what a shame and kick in the balls. To be there week in and week out, build your story of “finishing the story” and have done so for 2+ years, and now all goes away to make room for Rock.
Rollins coined it, the “Hollywood” title lol. And punk was right about rock YEARS ago. Stealing the limelight from the current day stars.
Hopefully Roman squashes rock like a bug..
