People are quick to say this was the plan the whole time even despite Cody going from saying he won’t face Roman at Wrestlemania to saying that it’s BS that Rock tried taking his spot.
With Rock leading this segment at the end and Roman standing to the side, it made Rock look like the Tribal Chief and Roman look somewhat irrelevant.

Are you insinuating that this was part of the story originally when they had this mapped out last Friday? Or…..did they just pivot because it was obvious Rock vs Roman wasn’t going to work with the backlash. I honestly have no idea. Knowing the brain of Hunter… wouldn’t shock me if last Friday was done to create a new story with Rhodes/Reigns. It’s personal now. Kayfabe baby! I think it was done knowing however people reacted it would tell them the path to take. This is wrestling, decisions are sometimes changed at the last minute. This just added a whole different dimension to an already compelling story. WWE for the first time in a very long time has a lot of interesting and compelling stories that they somehow need to tell but have limited time to strike while the iron is hot. To HHH’s credit, the Rhodes story has played out better than expected. Having watched Cody for his whole career and finding him really cringeworthy when he left WWE, there’s something about his character that I really resonates with people. He’s the person that has tried really hard and been the person that on paper seems like the guy but for some reason just isn’t. I think that’s a theme that resonates with most people, everyone in their life has been in that position be it at school, work, sports, socially, etc. WWE need/want Reigns to be the longest reigning champion, they need to milk Rock vs Roman, but then they also need to have the payoff for Cody to be the guy to beat Roman and take the ball. They also need Reigns to inevitably have the Orton/HHH/Austin type of “so bad for so long” that he becomes a good guy. What is somewhat funny is that Reigns has essentially just became role player in whatever story is being told here.

Roman was following Rock lookin like a lost puppy. I think this is part of it too. There needs to be more story built up between these guys. The Rock coming in and strong arming him as the true tribal chief is what the match is about. Rock and Roman will be a very limited, and very boring match that doesn’t really tell a story. WWE is going to want a year to build that up. There also is no development to Roman Reigns if he as a heel just beats the Rock as a face. Then what? It’s the same story they’ve had since 2020, He beat them alll…but then loses to Cody? To be a passing of the torch it needs to be a Roman v Rock match where the Rock passes the torch in a way that the fans will cheer. Reigns will need to be a face for that to happen.

What’s Dustin’s contract expiration looking like? Did my own research. Apparently it’s September 2024. Wonder if would allow him an early release, or allow him to be involved at WrestleMania?

I'm liking the sports approach WWE went with for this conference. It looked like something straight out of the UFC.

This was cinema. Really enjoyed it. Made sure to stay off the internet and it's funny how much more you enjoy something staying away opinions/narratives being forced for clicks/engagement.

I'm calling it now, Rock and Roman vs Cody and a partner at Elimination Chamber.
Big E said something along the lines of "I don't know what this is leading towards..." He said something about a tag before his eyes darted around, I assume someone shouted down his ear piece because he was about to spoil a big match, or get the fans hopes up for a fall.
Wouldn't be surprised to see a stipulation added, if Rock and Roman win, Rock gets added to the title match.

Who cares what anyone thinks, that's how you do a press conference. It was really well done. WWE is just miles ahead of anyone else in this business.

Serious lack of Bayley. Too much Man Mommy nonsense and Coconut community theatre. Like cool, she won Rumble, getting title match at Mania, and taking a backseat to everything else. Whatever. The Coconut community! ?

Also aside from Rollins, Cody, punk, Rhea, and big e this crap was trash lmao. I've seen all these reports of how great it was. Literally those five stood out and the rest was absolutely garbage. Sasha jr declaring herself the winner of a match she ain't even in yet. Rock and Roman butt ing each other. Becky being as boring as she's always been. Triple h fumbling his words like he always has when bigger stars are near. I don’t know what people were expecting from this, but I enjoyed it and thought it came off extremely well. It made SmackDown tonight must see, so job well done.
