Almost 10 years later (not classics board yet!) and with all the hindsight we have currently, what are you thoughts on the streak ending? Would you have broken the streak? If not for Lesnar, would you have picked someone else to do it? With Lesnar being seemingly erased from WWE, do you think it was even more of a poor idea to have him win? This was one of WWE's worst booking decisions imo and I was there live for it.

I would have broken the streak in Taker's last match, not break it at WM30 and still have him go for several more years. He had 'final boss' aura. But once the streak was gone, WrestleMania always felt a little less special to me.

The Streak should NEVER have been broken. It was the wrong decision then and it still proves to have been the wrong decision. What's worse is that absolutely no one benefited from breaking the streak. It was done purely for momentary shock value. Brock Lesnar sure as he'll didn't need the accolade. The entire mystique of facing The Undertaker at WrestleMani was erased. And the aftermath reaction from fans was overwhelmingly negative. It was a bad decision done with zero foresight.

It should have been the end, he clearly had some gas left not much but a few more as we saw but it lost its special stuff seeing him out there because there wasn’t anything more on the line for his opponents after the streak was gone. It would have made for a more fitting end watching him get old and slow and beat, bowing out in turn when the streak did finally end. Didn’t matter who beat him after Brock. Brock didn’t need the win cos he’s Brock so they kinda just pissed it up the wall after all they put into it.

Should've been ended by Roman Reigns and Undertakers last match ever.

Lesnar didn't need it and downright didn't deserve it.
IMO ending the streak ruined WM30. The entire arena died after Taker got pinned.

It’s been 10 years already since Reigns defeated Taker?

Simple, ungamed mental list from 29 on goes:
29 - Lesnar 30 - Wyatt or Punk 31 - Sting or Cena 32 - HIAC w/ Ambrose or healthy Cena* 33 - Styles or Reigns 34 - Cena/Wyatt/Reigns (best matchup remaining) 35 - McIntyre
Honestly, McIntyre fills the Streak Ender role the best.

This. Especially during his original heel run. The Mcintyre who obliterated Kurt Angle could easily have destroyed Undertaker and end the streak.

it didn't hurt Brock's stock to win. perhaps not the best choice but also not the worst

Brock was the right choice and I’ll always die on that hill. He came back in 2012 looking like one of the biggest stars in the world. Then he lost to Cena. Then he lost a mediocre feud with Triple H. Had a fantastic match with Punk, but it didn’t make him amount too much for him. Had a boring ass match with Big Show which he used a chair to take down Show. By the time Wrestlemania 30 came around, Brock had all but lost his aura. After ending the Streak, Brock looked like an attraction from there on out.

The streak never should have ended. It was part of the mystique of wrestlemania.

It didn’t need to end. It happened that far into Taker’s career that there was no point in doing so. That being said, Lesnar was the right choice. Look at those that tried. Kane, Batista, Orton, Punk, Mark Henry, Michaels, Triple H who failed three times even with assistance. Then you have former UFC Champion Brock Lesnar, one of the most strongest, fastest, most intimidating wrestlers that there is. If it absolutely had to then why wouldn’t it be him?
Its often thrown around that it should have been ended by an up and comer, but if the previously mentioned names couldn’t do so then is it going to be believable if someone like Finn or Bray were to do so? Absolutely not.

Made some sense, but I still hated the decision.
It's been made an even worse decision recently, as it looks like WWE won't be mentioning who broke it for a long time.

The Streak was one of the last feel good things left in wrestling and they pissed it away for the 10 seconds of shock value so fans could put their hands on their head and do a forced look of shock on their face.
I hated and I mean hated that they ended The Streak. What was the point? Brock Lesnar was already a main event guy, an absolute monster who could beat anyone. There was no "passing of the torch" he looked no better for beating The Undertaker at WrestleMania. I have yet to read one compelling argument as to why Brock Lesnar ending The Streak was a good thing. The Undertaker's WrestleMania streak is now just a meaningless footnote in history. He should have retired never having lost a match at WrestleMania, would have given his legendary career even more mystique. But hey, at least now we get tons of fans each week pretending to be shocked so that they can get on camera.
Looking back in hindsight if I had known they were going to piss it away in the fashion that they did, I would have had Randy Orton end it at WrestleMania 21.

I think it was the right call. They used Brock’s kayfabe notoriety from it to build future guys like Roman, and of course Roman himself also beat ‘Taker three years later. I always felt like ‘Taker was bigger than The Streak. It was definitely a good decision.

Id actually argue that Roman came away with very little to nought beating Brock or Taker as a direct result of Brock already having ended the streak years before.

Records are made to be broken. I do think Lesnar was the right pick but unfortunately his attitude and whatnot, he just didn't deserve it at the same time. But whatever the case that should have been the last match for Taker. To come back at other Manias and then lose to Roman, it just didn't matter anymore.

Taker should have retired undefeated at Wrestlemania, the streak didn’t need to be broken … especially by Brock Lesner
