I think that yukes/THQ should release the next game as "Smackdown vs Raw 20XX" and make it the final one they release. You see, instead of releasing a new game year after year, they could just keep making new stuff to add to this game ,that goes for characters, game modes, music, entrances videos, moves, etc which could all be obtained by downloading it.I think that this would be a good move as for example some people may see the newest version of the game features a new feature which they dont like, if it is done the way i am explaining, they can simply choose not to download that particular feature where as normally you would have to buy the game and put up with the feature as best you could.
thoughts?

Yes, I'm sure they'd pass up the chance at some money.

don't see it happening because they'll wanna do complete re-models of the game every year and add stuff that can't be dl'ed

Would not work any way THQ only have the WWE rights another 2 years so they will be milking it for all its worth as its probably there biggest money maker, and with the way the deal was signed with THQ in the first place I would be very very surprised if the WWE re signed with them.

wwe should just come out with a system where you just buy expansion packs sort of like the sims you could start off with one really huge game and then in the comming months you could buy arenas, legends, updated roster while keeping the original, music,CAWS,etc
thats what i think they should make

I would think EA would be the front runner when it comes to the next WWE contract.

just release a game a year. simple strategy that has seemed to have worked for them for quite a while now.
