Jon has very little influence over the boards just as Brian said. He only uses the WFT and occasionally the RingsideFest board. Brian, Nick, Booker and myself basically run the forums ( Jay too, but his time on the boards is limited due to his real life) If anything, Jon has helped WF. We used to have news every 3 weeks or so... now we have wrestling figure news quicker than ever, protos, wrestling news courtesy of Georgie, figure reviews, Ringside Fest, the figure database, brand new site, brand new logo etc... Even though some may see it as RSC advertising space... well... duh. You think he put all that money in to not have some ads for RSC? He's trying to do what is best for his business, and I don't see anything wrong with that. RSC has been in business much longer than almost every other figure site today. Remember www.sfh2000.com ? No? that's because it went under. You want to talk about high prices? go to Toyglobe or Toy wiz.. you'll pay 6x the amount of retail. Simply put... you don't like it... don't buy it.

Simply put: Jon is an authority figure/figurehead at the forums. People dislike him because its the "cool thing to do." 99.9999% of these forums do not know Jon personally, have never met him personally, and really have no contact with him whatsoever.
The forums are better than they ever were, not thanks to Jon... thanks to the people who run the forums. See, you forum members dislike Jon, and he isn't in your way here. He is concerned about RSC and the Main page.
The Main site is a lot better, with more content, thanks to Jon. He has done a good job revamping the site.
If you have these feelings towars Jon, and buy from RSC, you are a hypocrite.

I really don't care much about this issue, as it doesn't affect me personally. I don't post much on WF anymore. But, Brian.. you never modded WFT, you did not have to deal with Jon personally. Ask Graze, ask Rob Fury, they all had to deal with Jon. You nor the other admins have seen the true Jon Hal, hell.. most of the member base does not know the true Jon Hal. So why you're so quick to defend him is beyond me. I don't know the true Jon Hal... I have met him personally more than most members here. He is not Satan incarnate like everyone makes him out to be. From my understanding, Jon spent his own money acquiring this site. If he wants to run things the way he wants to run them, thats fine. I've always done things by my own book around here. If Jay, or Jon takes offense to that, they may fire me at any given second. Heck, some people may have locked this thread. I see no reason to. However, if you have something to say to Jon, maybe you should calmly e-mail him, and confront him with your problems. I admit, I am not a wrestling figure collector, and have limited contact with people on the wrestling figure talk board, so I can't fairly comment on what goes on there. I plan on buying the Rocky figures when they come out though... and if Ringside carries them, and I oppose to their prices, I simply won't buy them from there. Thats my stance. If you oppose to how much someone charges for something, the best you can do is not buy from that merchant. As for the other baggage, there is no reason for other forums to spam ours. Much like WWE is the top dog in wrestling, Ringside is the top dog in figure sales. Say what you will, but I've seen figure stores come and go, and Ringside has been up for my entire tenure at WF and AFR combined... maybe even before that.

And JC, I'm quick to defend him because he has done nothing but good things for me personally. You can have your opnions of him, and I'll have mine. I don't think he has done anything to negatively impact WF, or its forums.

How can we ignore it? He's censored links to every other wrestling figure store in existence... and if we say anything positive about them, we're at risk of a ban. You are not at risk of a ban. If you post another link, it will be removed, and you should be warned. If you continue to do so, you will be banned. Lets put it this way: If I was a Toys R Us manager, would I want representitives from Kay Bee or another Toy Store in my store plugging and promoting their store? No. If I was working at Best Buy, would I want someone from Circuit City, or another electronics store promoting that store? Probably not. Think before you talk. Jon is doing nothing that any other stores don't do. I'm sure most forums that are releated to other sites do the same thing. Maybe to a lesser degree, but I'm sure they don't allow the plugging of RSC. And what about those of us that A. Don't buy from RSC and B. Get threatened with banning because we have negitive critisism about it? I relize that there is a difference between constant bashing of RSC and constructive crisisim, and those that spam the boards constant with bashing should be banned. But for those of us that want to voice our opinion about the prices of certain figures compared to other places, do we deserve to get banned? Did I honestly deserve that PM or IM from Jon just for simply pointing out something that wasn't true? I've said it once and I'd say it again. If Jon had just left it at the PM he sent, He would have gotten his apology alot faster and before any fight we had. Why? Because it was the right thing to do and the responsible thing seeing as I was wrong. However, when someone gets up in my face, regardless of the medium they use, and insults me and threatens me with a banning simply because I made a mistake, do you think thats fair? I have nothing against RSC. I don't buy from there and I haven't ever. I haven't made a single claim against them as far as service or shipping or anything of that matter. Granted, I think some of their prices are high, but I don't buy from the like I said. However, I have a big problem with being kicked off a supposed "fun enviroment" to which I've spend about 3 years on and done little to nothing wrong, simply because RSC got some alittle bad press, to which MOST Members corrected my claim before Jon even read it.

Yeah, if we have an opinion, we should be able to voice it, as long as it isn't bashing for no reason. If it's just unjustified bashing, they should be warned/banned. I've got nothing against RSC, but I agree that we should be able to voice an opinion, after all it is a forum and is supposed to be a fun environment.

I do know Jon. I speak with him on a daily basis.. I've yet to meet him, but he does live relatively close to me. Jon has actually offered me jobs... such as working at RSF'05 unfortunately I couldn't make it. Jon isn't that bad at all if you actually get to know him.

Okay, well...
I may be fairly new here, but I'd like to add something about this Jon guy, and whether or not he's unfair.
About a week before Christmas, when everybody was complaining about the 'unfair' price increase of the HBK/Hogan 2-Pack, it was the BIG controversy. And, I admit, I also complained...well, not so much 'complained' as just commented that I wouldn't be purchasing it since the price had gone up.
Anyway, I believe it's all in the way you carry yourself, whether or not you're a nuisance, and how MUCH you complain because after I wrote that post, it wasn't but a few minutes later when I got a PM in my Inbox from Jon saying that if I wanted to purchase the set to let him know, and that he'd set one aside for me and charge me the original price instead of the new one.
Now mind you, we don't know eachother. It wasn't like we were good friends, or that we'd ever spoken. But he made that offer, which he didn't HAVE to do, by any means.
That sure doesn't sound like an evil-spirited person to me.

Yeah, some people also fail to mention the freebies Jon has given away in the past too... a while ago, he gave all of the mods that were active each a free exclusive figure. He didn't have to do that. I remember him including free Piper and Yokozuna figures in orders around the time of ringside fest 04 and 05. Those figures were selling for upwards of 304+ each at one point... he didnt have to do that either.
Jon is a good guy. I will never back down from that statement.

Once a time, I was surprised about the price of PPV6 Cena on RS.
He was rough with me just because I talk about the 'high' price (for me, my opinion) and I was surprised ; and he erased the thread + send a rough PM to warn me.
I have nothing against him ; I do my job as a mod ; I love those boards ; but I'm not part of the RS staff. I'm just a mod of the boards because I know them and I'm a justified member. I think anyone should may be able to say what they want, have their opinion without been afraid to loose their status or been banned.
I don't bash RS, I respect that work, but I think we can talk about this subject (I don't talk about advertising for other websites).
