Really, Have you ever thought about this? Why do these guys want to wrestle? Is it cause they want the $$$? Is it really to entertain us? Is it for the rush and excitment they get out of it? Really, With all the serious injuries they can get, Why would they want to do it?

I guess they just love it? Like getting physical and competing? Same reason we're fans I guess. I doubt its the money, I mean sure for some I guess but its not really the kind of business where you make big money unless you're a top star ala HHH, Taker, Cena. And you have to like what you're doing. And I'm sure for some of the divas it aint a bad job either like say the Expose who really do nothing....but not that many perks involved either, gotta pay your own flights, eat out, hotels, etc.

One word - passion. Kim Another one worder, Snitsky. But yea, while money has come and gone and come again into the sport. I say a lot of guys do it because they loved the sport as a kid, and wanted to get to "this moment". I mean Punk had name value prior to ROH. But he became a national and international televised name going into WWE. Make or break, he became an ECW star because the passion for wrestling told him he could be a bigger star.

I agree with the people that said passion, for most of the wrestlers, its all about that. Some get into it because they think its easy and pays well.

Money is a big factor even though wrestlers dont get THAT much. Seriously some guys make less than a normal paying job, others make a good buck. It is pretty evident when someone wnats to wrestle and someone wnats money. Example. Paul London; Batista.

One word - passion. Kim Couldnt be said any better. Short and sweet. I just started wrestling in the indy scene. For my debut match I almost crap myself because I was so nervous. I went out there, did what I had to do and after I saw the video of the match, I saw SOO many people cheering for me and what not and you just get drawn in.

Its a combination of many things
They love the rush of it when watching then they want to do it and entertain and money is also involved as with any job. If you love some deeply that doesnt mean you dont want any money

Money seems to be a big one in guys like Sid, Brock Lesnar, and others. Passion seems to be the biggest one. From guys who have entertained all around the world like Chris Benoit, to guys who ing MADE wrestling like Ric Flair, to fans-turned-wrestlers like Kenny Doane; passion seems to drive them.

I am a former Pro Wrestling Manager on the Indy level.
My love as a kid was for Pro Wrestling. When I became older I signed up for Wrestling School and it became only more of a burning passion.
Sure, I'd not have minded making a lot of money. But I got into it for love of the Business, the excitement of Entertaining and the rush of the crowd.
Some years later my body is a bit broken down. But if I had the chance to do it all again, I would without a doubt.
To me you cannot buy the memories and life experiences that I had, as they are priceless.
I hope that helps, John Rodeo
