I dont know about you guys, but i dont particularly care for Jerry Lawler and Tazz on Commentary. They have their good moments, but mostly i can't stand them. I saw a King's Court segment with Duke "The Dumpster" Drose on YouTube, and i didnt laugh ONCE at his "jokes". Plus, it's pretty unsettling that he's spazing out over divas and he's twice their age
Tazz on the other hand brings that "ol school New Tork" feel to the commentary. It's just when he gets riled up and overly excited i reach for "MUTE"
Let's recap
Lawler went from "I'm the king of Memphis!"
to
"YAHOOO!!! JR!!! PUPPIES!! <insert unfunny innuendo here>"
Tazz went from "Beat me if you can, survive if i let you"
to
"WHOA,LOOKATDAT JOEY, YO!!, BIG TIME PROPS DERE!!!"
That's my .02 on that subject, if you dont agree then go buy a gumball or something

Tazz is, and always was, just awful on commentary

I think Paul Heyman summed up Tazz's move to commentary best: "He used to be a killer. He used to be a wrestler, a great wrestler, and now he's just a fat, obnoxious color-commentator, and not even a good one."

Tazz's always suck, so you ain't gonna get no more wine out of that grape thats for sure.
JeRRY Lawler as heel was so damn hilarious. I remember when HBK did something in the ring and jerry said "Oh look at that, He prolly lost his smile again"
and how Jerry would always put over too cool and deny brian being his son

I think both King and Taz do their jobs, and do it well enough... I'm sure commentating isn't as easy as it looks and they haven't interfered in my enjoyment of the product yet. TNA's announce team on the other hand...
And what do you expect when face wrestlers become commentators? That they continue to put themselves over as if they are active? Only heels like JBL and Jesse Ventura can get away with that...

Funny you should say that, I was just thinking about Heyman's segment with Vince too as it relates to Tazz I think Paul Heyman summed up Tazz's move to commentary best: "He used to be a killer. He used to be a wrestler, a great wrestler, and now he's just a fat, obnoxious color-commentator, and not even a good one."

I remember Jerry Lawler not being so bad several years ago when he was still vaguely new to commentating for the WWF. Jerry Lawler is like a horribly perverted grandpa version of Bobby Hennan, only with less talent. Those of you who were lucky enough to live through the Prime Time Wrestling days should know what I am talking about. Tazz (or is he Taz again?) was enjoyable on SD but only because he is better better than Michael Cole. But then again, getting savagely raped in the ear would be better than listening to Cole try to call a match. He (Tazz) is only good on ECW because he is feeding off the godliness that is Joey Styles. Man, that guy can make anybody sound good. If only Vince would let him work in his own style. Why hire someone for their skills, and then refuse to let them use said skills that landed them the job in the first place? I would like to see JR hang it up as well. I haven't watched WWE TV regularly in well over a year, but it was clear to me back when I did still watch that JR was losing that special something he once had. From what I've been hearing, he's only gotten worse. If you can't even fake excitement, it's time to pack it up. I think he would enjoy spending some time at home watching his ing college football anyway. So basically, Vince needs to completely redo his commentating teams. Bring Joey Styles up to RAW, let him work in his original ECW style and make him the #1 guy. Fire everyone else. I know for a fact that there are tons of talent kids out there just waiting for their shot.

JBL and Cole are horrible. The reason i stopped watching wrestling altogether was the commentary, there is no point in watching something for 2 hours on mute.

JBL is the worst, he goes on RAW , trashes the talent he has to put over on Smackdown then 4 days later he is back on commentary putting them over. "This is the A-Team Michael Cole. With the lights on bright" is about all he says. Worst color-man ever is Superstar Billy Graham though. I just watched SummerSlam 88 today and he must have said "brotha" 350x.(no joke)

In a kinda-related topic, anyone else think Mr. Kennedy's gonna end up at the commentator's table some day? I think he'd make a pretty good commentator once he's finished wrestling.
And for the record, the worst commentator ever was Jackie when she filled in on an episode of Heat in '02 (I believe). She just kept saying "What a match, Coach! What a match! This is a great match, Coach! What a match!" Honorable mention goes to Lita. I don't actually remember how good/bad she was at actually commentating, I just know her voice is annoying.

Booker T was the greatest commentator EVER. Listening to him say 'Oh! Wait a minute here! What's he doing now....wait a minute...!' was so ing funny. And I like Tazz alot. King aswell, but not as much as before. JBL is so repetitive and annoying. Which Tazz, Styles and Cole can be alot too (repetitive).
