In the last few weeks - ive come to the conclusion that the novelty of having Tag Team Champions in the WWE has pretty much dried up. The titles have no prestige whatsoever now - and even worse, the straps have been put on the shoulders of wrestlers who have hap-hazardly been paired together: Raw champs: Hardcore Holly/Cody Rhodes Smackdown champs: Morrison/Miz To be honest, all 4 of those wrestlers are better off as singles competitors and have no place anymore in the tag team roster. At the moment, the WWE is really struggling bad to have a decent tag team division EVEN THOUGH theres a few good tag teams still in there: Deuce & Domino Jesse & Festus Highlanders (although rory is injured) The hooliganz Santino & Carlito (WWE have dropped the ball with this team) The Edgeheads Cade & Murdoch Jimmy Wang Yang & Shannon Moore They seriously need to restore the prestige to those belts and fast!!! There's not even a match for the tag belts at Wrestlemania and to be honest - id switch channels if I saw a match with Hardcore/Cody defending the straps at WM - as they're not even a real tag team! I mean how cool would it be to see a tag team turmoil match at Wrestlemania for the smackdown titles: D&D vs. Jesse/festus vs. Edgeheads vs. Wang Yang/Moore - it would definitely be entertaining as hell - but sadly "mizorrison" have the belts  What makes me more furious is to go back and see what sort of great teams have held the tag titles: Hardys, Dudleys, APA, E&C, LOD, Money Inc. etc. Now compare the current champions with those teams above and you'll see why im so dissappointed with the WWE. Lets have some REAL tag teams as champions and restore some credibility to the division! PLEASE WWE!! SORT THIS MESS OUT!!!  |

I like Morrison and Miz. I wouldn't split them up with out direct intention on placing both in single's title contention.
I mean, both have charisma that can easily be forgotten, like Elijah Burke.

I think the main problem is that they simply have no fresh ideas for real fueds within the Tag Divison. All they ever build is new Tag Teams, and pit them in squash Matches, eventually winning the Belts and doing nothing with them. You look back in the day, and they'd have rivalries over all sorts.
All they simply use the Tag Divison for now, is to pair up Single Wrestlers who can't get over on their own, or pair up two Singles Wrestlers which are in a rivalry, and have them compete as a Tag Team for the night.

It can be argued that none of the titles in WWE have any prestige anymore, with the possible exception of the Women's title.

This happens every year. I remember when the only tag teams on Raw were La Resistance and Kane/Benoit who hated each other.

The Tag division needs to either be combined or put on 1 show like SD/ECW....You can keep teams together but its time to reshuffle teams/rosters to make better tag teams like the following....
-Holly/Rhodes (neither one is gonna get over as a singles star, might as well job them out)
-Morrison/Mercury (I dont see what the point in breaking them up for Morrison to go singles to only put him back in tag. Bring back Mercury and start M&M)
-Burke/Benjamin (would be great if they could do something along the line of being held down by "the man")
Hooliganz (obvious reasons)
Carlito/Eddie (carlito santino thing doesnt work for me, Replace him with Eddie Colon.)
DH Smith/TJ Wilson (The Stampede Bulldogs MUST be brought in. Its pointless if not
Cade&Murdoch (obvious reasons)
Highlanders (obvious reasons)
Jesse/Festus (obvious reasons)
Edgeheads (needs a new name/gimmick.)
Duce/Domino (obvious reasons)
and the one that could be GREAT is CM Punk and Colt Cabana. Im just not feeling Punk anymore. It seems like hes just losing it. I know hes a great talent but its just not there for me. An act with him and Colt could be great and reboost his career and launch Colts.

Highlanders - Bring in Drew McIntyre and team him with Robbie and when Rory comes back form the 3 of them together.
Smith/Wilson - Bring these 2 in and form the new british bulldogs.
Thorn/Big Daddy V - Team them up in a ministry of darkness type tag and have them managed by Matt Striker.

I couldn't agree more, man. I liked it when they had one set of Tag belts for both shows. They need to start debuting people as tag teams again and then LEAVING them as tag teams. Don't split them up right when they get hot.

To be honest, the problem in the WWE isn't the talent or how "good" the teams are. There are plenty of good, entertaining teams, it's just that WWE doesn't use any TV time create any real rivalries or feuds for the tag belts. All they have to do is show it attention on TV, create some good heated fueds and rivalries and make it seem like something that "matters" again. The talent in the tag division is fine, it's just that it gets no attention.

Like ive said before, make one belt for all 3 brands, that opens the doors for more fueds, a larger variety of teams, and hopefully the elimination of tag-teams like Holly/Rhodes and Miz/Morrison who are just thrown together

I'm so glad that someone finally mentioned the current state of tag team wrestling... yeh - it had been a burning issue for me ever since hardcore/cody won the titles. I thought to myself "let me see - maybe they could pull it off as a great tag team". But its been a few weeks now, and they're really boring - so this brought up alot of the issues I addressed in this post. |

At least that belt is on a talented individual who defends it against mostly-credible contenders on a semi-regular basis. I can give valid reasons why all the other belts don't mean jack crap. I'm so glad that someone finally mentioned the current state of tag team wrestling... yeh - it had been a burning issue for me ever since hardcore/cody won the titles. I thought to myself "let me see - maybe they could pull it off as a great tag team". But its been a few weeks now, and they're really boring - so this brought up alot of the issues I addressed in this post. He was being facetious. Somebody brings up the sad state of the tag division on a fairly regular basis around here. |

They need to unfiy the Raw and Smackdown tag titles and have them defended on all 3 brands!, Womens title too!
