i guess the obvious ones that actually had a decent reign and made the belt feel special. -Cena ( best of whatever series thing was awesome) -Eddie (I thought the title looked good on him lol, jk he was awesome as the US champ) -Benoit (probably the person who comes to mind when i think "US champion", im not sure why, i guess so many memorable matches) -MVP is shaping up to be a pretty good US champion actually, he kind of brought the title out of mediocrody and established much more prestige for it, facing guys like Batista every week...well, actually thats not saying much...

Edge. Not even for what hes done with it..But because hes Edge lol.. Edge never held it! Actually....Edge held the United States Championship. He beat Angle in 2001, and unified the IC and US belts at the Survivor Series 2001.... But since we're talking about from '03 on, Benoit was definitely the best US Champion. - Vertan

MVP definitely. Been a fan of his since the Florida indies, and he's brought the belt back from mediocrity. He barely defends it. I like MVP a lot and he is one of the only highlights of Smackdown, but he barely defends it.

I liked when Eddie, Benoit, and The Big Show carried the belt. MVP's doing a good job though.

He`s that guy who looks like a WWE sticker in the back of the action figure boxes, still haven`t been able to find one!

I'll take "Persona Non Grata" for $500, Alex. Yep, also known as the guy you can't have his professional life separated from personal matters with which lead to tragic events unforseen by any one who was a fan or not. Since we all knew him so well, and now have the grueling task of recovering from the mental anguish he has given us in his personal vendetta against us all. *gasp* Anyways, I'd say Eddie G. The champion I remember most for his title defenses, but all around he was a great and deserving champion and started the belt off strong.

John Cena. I like MVP, but he's done nothing for the US title.

Well for me it's John Cena, I know I may be in the minority, but in actuality I believe he was the best United States Champion since it was reinstated in the WWE. Cena followed by Chris Benoit and then MVP are the top US champs in my opinion. Also I have bias since Cena is my favorite wrestler to date, but he was an excellent US champ. The Smackdown champs were awesome in '04 to '05 JBL was champ, Cena was US champ, RVD and Rey were Tag champs. More people wanted to see Cena's matches than JBL's too. The US title was the title that wanted to be seen during that time, though I will not lie JBL always has ruled. I was the only one that liked him in '04. That's why I was happy when Cena and JBL squared off at WM21, the two biggest smackdown stars at the time.

My all time favorite US Champion would probably be Diamond Dallas Page. In 1998 DDP was one of the best wrestlers on the planet, that's why i feel he is extremely underrated. Anyone ever see Superbrawl 1998 DDP vs. Benoit is an excellent match.

Benoit,
although he never deserved to fall back into the mid-card for as long as he did prior to the double murder suicide last summer.

Cena was the most entertaining to hold it imo.

I like MVP a lot and he is one of the only highlights of Smackdown, but he barely defends it. That's what I was going to say. It's kind of like when Hogan was champ back in the WWF. He defended it about once every 3 months.
